Gail Berkley Williams Lambiotte

NEWPORT NEWS - Gail Berkley Williams Lambiotte, 68, died Friday Jan. 4, 2008.

Born in Danville, she moved to the Peninsula at the age of two. She graduated from Guston Hall in Maryland and earned her bachelors degree from Mary Washington College. She retired as a teacher with the Newport News Public Schools. She taught English and biology for 23 years at Newport News, Ferguson and Denbigh High Schools, a career she dearly loved, serving with pride and dedication. She was also an avid bridge player.

Mrs. Lambiotte was preceded in death by her parents, Berkley and Sallie Williams; and her faithful canine companion, "Doodle Bug.'

She is survived by her husband, Michael G. Lambiotte of Bena; her step-son, Paul J. Lambiotte of Newport News; her brother, Leo C. Williams and his wife, Miriam; her sister, Barbara W. Matthews, all of Newport News; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2008, at Weymouth Funeral Home by Pastor Barbara Shefelton. Interment will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
