Louise Lane Mundie
TAMPA, FLA. - Louise
Lane Mundie, 97, who taught high school in Hampton and Newport News public
schools before retiring, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007. The family will receive
friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday in R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, downtown
Hampton, 723-3191.

TAMPA, FLA. - Louise Lane
Mundie, 97, widow of Bauman Sale Mundie, died Wednesday, May 23, 2007. Born June
24, 1909, in Salem, Va., she had lived in Hampton since 1918, where she was a
member of Central United Methodist Church. After moving to Florida in August of
1999, she also became a co-member of St. James United Methodist Church and the
SOKS Group of the church. A 1930 graduate of the College of William and Mary
with an AB degree in Education, Mrs. Mundie taught in the Hampton and Newport
News public high schools until her retirement in 1973. She was a member of
Peninsula Chapter B, PEO and Tampa Chapter DV, PEO and had been an active member
of the Lois Lane Circle at Central United Methodist Church. Survivors include
her daughters and their spouses, Nancy M. and Gordon Garnett of Hampton and
Elizabeth M. and Michael Mihok of Tampa; five grandchildren, Nancy G. Outten,
Joy G. Duke, Sale Mihok, Troy Mihok and Shane Mihok; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. John's Cemetery
with the Rev. Cheryl Simmons officiating. The family will receive friends from 6
to 7:30 p.m. Friday in R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home, downtown Hampton, 723-3191.
