Bruce Daniel 'Dan' Outland

YORKTOWN - Bruce Daniel 'Dan' Outland, 63, passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2003. He was born and raised in Newport News and graduated from Newport News High School, where he was an outstanding football player. He also attended the University of Georgia. Currently, he resided in Mathews County, Va. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Bernard and Rena Corbett Outland, and a daughter, Jennifer L. Outland. He is survived by his wife, Priscilla Balanis Outland; a daughter, Terry Lynn; three sons, Bruce Daniel Jr., Jason Daniel and Joshua Ryan Outland; three brothers, Hobert Joseph Corbett and his wife, Virginia, William Frederick Corbett and his wife, Mildred, and John Bernard Outland Jr.; two sisters, Lois and Selma Outland; one granddaughter and one special godchild, Renée E. Saur. A graveside service will be conducted at noon on Wednesday, March 12, at Peninsula Memorial Park by Father George Chioros of Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, Newport News. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 895 Middleground Blvd., Suite 154, Newport News, VA 23606. Arrangements are under the care of Riverside Funeral Home.
