Bowie woman killed in one-vehicle accident 

April 30, 2005 

BOWIE (Special) - A Bowie woman was killed and her mother seriously injured in a one-vehicle accident south
of Bowie on U.S. 287 Friday morning. 

The accident occurred at 10:30 a.m. just before the Lawhorn exit on U.S. 287, approximately six miles from Bowie. 

Department of Public Safety Trooper Mark Coonce said Jennifer Robin Reeves was northbound on U.S. 287 in a
GMC Jimmy. The preliminary investigation indicates she overcorrected and went across the bar ditch on the right
side of the road. The vehicle overturned, slid across the service road, and turned over in the bar ditch. 

The driver was ejected from the vehicle. Justice of the Peace Jim Willard pronounced the 32-year-old driver dead
at the scene. Her passenger, Jennifer Reeves' mother, Barbara Lynn Reeves, 57, had to be removed from the
vehicle. She was flown to Harris Hospital.

Barbara Lynn Reeves and her daughter, Jennifer Robin Reeves, passed away on April 29, 2005.

Graveside services for Barbara and Jennifer were Tuesday, May 3 at The Cowboy’s Last Ride Cemetery
with Dr. Larry Cox officiating. White Family Funeral Home of Bowie directed the services.

Barbara was born August 9, 1947 in Dallas, TX to Lynn Otis and Elsie (Lee) Burns. She married Loyd Lynn
Reeves on August 4, 1970 in Ardmore, OK. She loved gardening, cooking and volunteering her time at the
animal shelter. She was a loving wife and mother.

Jennifer was born December 24, 1972 in Newport News, VA to Loyd Lynn and Barbara Lynn (Burns) Reeves.
She was a giving woman with a love for dogs. She loved caring for her own dogs and spending time with her
mother and father. She was an avid movie watcher.

They are preceded in death by Barbara’s parents and Jennifer’s grandparents, Lynn and Elsie Burns;
Barbara’s sister and Jennifer’s aunt, Carol Crouch.

They are survived by Barbara’s husband and Jennifer’s father, Loyd Reeves of Bowie, TX; Barbara’s sister
and Jennifer’s aunt, Margaret Edwards and her husband, Bruce of Poquoson, VA; Barbara’s brothers and
Jennifer’s uncles, Robert Burns and his wife Cindy of Poquoson, VA and Lee Burns and his wife, Vicky of Clinton,
MS; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
