MT. AIRY, NC - Willie Pete Morrison, 49, of 306 Garden Terrace died Sept. 1, 2000, at the University of North Carolina Medical Center in Chapel Hill.

He was born Nov. 14, 1950, in Surry County, a son of Lee Roy and Frances Stevens Morrison. He was last employed as a supervisor of Acme Delivery Service and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father.

Surviving are his mother of Mt. Airy; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Yvonne and Wayne Cottrell of Currituck and Kim and Darrell Rorrer of Ararat, Va.; a brother and sister-in-law, Roy Leon and Barbara Morrison of Mt. Airy; two nephews, Roy L. Morrison Jr. of Mt. Airy and Wayne J. Cottrell II of Chapel Hill; and a special friend and companion, Brenda Smith of High Point.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Moody Funeral Home Chapel, Mt. Airy, by the Rev. Jon Cawley. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery. Visitation will be 7-9 tonight at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to Flat Rock Baptist Church, 1335 E. Pine St., Mt. Airy, N.C. 27030.
