When I was a
little girl I used to delight every time
my daddy would take
me here.
The ambience was delightful,
and Al would make us scrumptious sandwiches of
corned beef on rye.
At the counter were a variety of exotic treats,
and Daddy would always buy me a
Joyva Crown.
This was a kosher chocolate bar from Brooklyn in the shape
of a semi-circle.
Al was astonished that I liked them, as they had a flavor very different from
other candy bars,
and most children did not seem to enjoy them.
I've not seen one in years, but I wish I could taste one just once more.
