HISTORY:

"The first Christian Church was organized in 1900.  The first service was held on the first Sunday in March 1901.  It was known
as the North End Christian Church and was located on Huntington Avenue between 46th Street and 47th Street.
The East End Church was organized in 1901 and in 1906 the North End Church merged with the East End Church.
It was known as the East End Christian Church and was located at the corner of 23rd Street and Roanoke Avenue.

The new building which is located across the street from the old church was erected in 1929 and the first service held in February 1930.
The new educational building was completed in 1945, and the building was officially opened on Sunday, December 16, 1945.

In June 1931, the Church adopted the name of The First Congregational Christian Church
and during the fifty years of progress the church has been served by thirteen ministers."

I remember attending at least one wedding here on a hot summer day in the early 60's, but I can't recall who was being married.
