Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
Guess what?!? We
actually have a beautiful White Christmas here outside St. Louis today! It's true,
really! It began snowing yesterday morning, kept snowing off and on all day, and now it looks just like a
Christmas card!
I'm not certain just how much accumulation we have; somewhere between two and
four inches, I'd say.
And how fortunate was it for me that I'd already used this easily-repeatable theme just seventeen months ago:

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Christmas_(song):
"Berlin wrote the song in early 1940 while sitting poolside at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona. The original verse pokes fun at a well-off Los Angeleno who, amid orange and palm trees, longs for traditional Christmas "up north." Berlin later dropped the verse but kept the now-famous chorus."
From http://www.theintelligencer.com/ - 12/23/10 - "Forecasters predict a white Christmas; Snow expected to fall in area beginning late tonight":
The Illinois State Police also offers these tips for safe winter
driving: • Always keep your gas tank at least two-thirds full to prevent the vehicle’s fuel line from freezing. • Do not travel unless absolutely necessary when conditions are hazardous or could become so. If you have to make a trip, check the forecast and make sure someone is aware of your travel route. • Always carry an emergency car care kit that contains jumper cables, flares or reflectors, windshield washer fluid, a small ice scraper, traction material, blankets, non-perishable food and a first aid kit. • Carry a cell phone and dial *999 if the need arises for roadway assistance. |
