Hello! I hope you are having a wonderful life! How's the family? I have a new post on my blog, for your personal edification! http://lasttangowithcharis.blogspot.com/2013/12/so-whats-best-in-america.html Love you, Charis
Ah, Charis -
another winner!
Thanks so much!
Actually, having lived in Illinois for 18-1/2 years, I'm quite familiar with Casimir Pulaski Day. I was told it was observed there due to the large number of Polish people who settled in Illinois: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casimir_Pulaski http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casimir_Pulaski_Day
We're doing fairly well
here, although we miss you and yours terribly, because we all love you
so. Nothing's ever quite the same with you not there.

From

A little boy came
home with his parents from church one Sunday. He seemed a little
depressed, so his mother asked him if something happened in Sunday
school class that he would like to talk about.
He told his mother,
"Well, we were singing songs and the teacher made us sing about a poor
bear named Gladly that needed glasses and I can't stop thinking about
him. She said he was cross-eyed and I feel bad for him. Then the teacher began laughing out loud and said to the mother, “I know what Jeffrey’s' talking about! We learned the hymn 'Gladly The Cross I'd Bear'". |

O Gloriosa Virginum
Ascribed to Saint Venantius
Fortunatus, Bishop
of Poitiers
(c. 530 -c. 600/609)
O gloriósa vírginum, Amen. |
O Queen of
all the Virgin choir, Enthroned above the starry sky; Who with pure milk from thy own breast Thy own Creator didst supply. What man hath lost in hapless Eve, Thy sacred womb to man restores; Thou to the sorrowing here beneath Hast open’d Heaven’s eternal doors. Hail, O refulgent Hall of light! Hail, Gate sublime of Heaven’s high King! Through thee redeem’d to endless life, Thy praise let all the nations sing. O Jesu! born of Virgin bright, Immortal glory be to Thee; Praise to the Father infinite, And Holy Ghost eternally. Amen. |
