There is more sad news this Monday morning. Irene Coleman
Range, widow of beloved Newport News High School
Coach
J. C. "Cowboy" Range
(23
Dec 1914 - 13 Jan 1980), passed away in
Newport News on Friday, November 30, 2011.

Coleman Range, the widow of Jacob 'Cowboy' Range, passed away
peacefully Nov. 30, 2011.

Cowboy Range
pulled my brother
(Downie Wray - '61) and me off a sandlot field and made ball
players out of us. He was a great inspiration in my life. His wife
had to be a great woman! Only time and eternity will tell.
