From the President of the Class of 1965, Joe Wingo of NC - 11/24/14 - "50-Year Reunion":

“Attention NNHS Class of 1965 Graduates”

Your reunion committee is beginning the process of organizing our 50th reunion celebration. While in the very preliminary stages, what is needed to move forward with a more definitive plan is an expression of interest from each and every classmate. H.P. Lucas has graciously offered to be the point person for this effort. You may contact him by e-mail at to convey your thoughts. As the level of participation becomes more defined, the committee will then be in a position to supply a thorough synopsis of what our reunion festivities will look like.

My sincere hope is that each of you are well. May the upcoming holiday season bring you peace and joy.

I look forward to a tremendous turnout for our 50th and I look forward to seeing you all again. Remember, age is only a state of mind.

Best wishes,

Joe Wingo

Thanks, Joe Sweetie!

From the Cutest Boy in the Class of 1965, H P Lucas of VA - 11/28/14 - "RE: 50-Year Reunion":

So sorry to hear you are under the weather. Trust you will bounce back pronto!!

Not sure why you posted my letter to
Joe Wingo. That letter was from me to him with some ideas to consider for our reunion. All I did was gather some facts from          David Spriggs ('64) and their 50-Year reunion and used them as a track to run on.

Please, please understand NOTHING, ZERO, NATTA, has been established for our reunion. Please let everyone know NOTHING has been decided. Joe's letter was supposed to be the only one posted so as to measure the INTEREST LEVEL of our classmates.

Please correct this as soon as you are feeling better.

Thanks, and hope your THANKSGIVING meal was or will be delicious.

H P Lucas

Oh, NO! H P, you've just learned what others learned long ago. I have little to no discernment even on a good day. If something is not to be published, you must clearly note that in your message to me, as in "NOT FOR PUBLICATION".

As my brain has been total mush for nearly two weeks now, it follows that whatever level of good judgment I might have had previously is completely MIA just now; I'm operating totally on auto-pilot.

I did wonder how you could already have nailed down such important details so soon in the planning stages, but that only served to make me feel guiltier for not posting it in more places on the site in view of all your hard work.

The good news is twofold: 1) it was easier for me to obliterate it in all the places it actually DID appear, and 2) if it took you this long to catch it, chances are excellent that no one else saw it either.

    From Jimmy Smith ('62 / '63) of VA - 11/27/14 - "You'll Never See These Ads Again.":

I should certainly hope not! Thanks, Jimmy!

From My Friend, Ellen, of MO - 11/28/14:

  Thank you, Ellen!

From My Husband, Paul Harty (Bardolph HS, IL - '61) of NC - 11/22/14 - "FAMILY PORTRAITS (#5 in a series of 18)":

  AWW! Thanks, Dools!

From - 11/28/14:
Cal was out driving in the country, seeing how his new car handled the curvy roads at high speeds. As he rounded a corner, one of his tires blew.

When he got out of the car to change the tire, he noticed that he had stopped in front of the state mental asylum. There was also a man sitting on the brick wall in front of the facility.

The driver went about his business, not paying any attention to the guy on the fence. He first took his tire iron and jack out of the car, and got the car jacked up. Then, he removed the hubcap. Next, he removed the six lug nuts, and placed them in the hubcap for safekeeping.

About this time, the guy on the fence decided to start a conversation. This startled the driver, and he reeled around quickly, knocking over the hubcap, and the lug nuts fell into the sewer drain.

The driver got angry with the guy on the fence, shouting, "Now look what you made me do. Now I'm going to have to walk to town to buy some new lug nuts. Just go back inside and leave me be."

The guy on the fence said, "Why don't you just take one lug nut from each of your other three wheels, and use them on this one. That should hold it steady enough for you to drive the car to the auto parts store."

The driver asked, "That's a brilliant idea...then why are you here?"

The guy on the fence replied, "I'm just crazy, not stupid."

I Should Care

Written by
Axel Stordahl (08 Aug 1913 - 30 Aug 1963), Paul Weston (12 Mar 1912 - 20 Sept 1996),
Sammy Cahn (18 June 1913 - 15 Jan 1993), 1944

I should care, I should go around weepin'.
I should care, I should go without sleepin'.
Strangely enough I sleep well, 'cept for a dream or two,
But then I count my sheep, well,
Funny how sheep can lull you to sleep.

So I should care, I should let it upset me.
I should care, but it just doesn't get me.
Maybe I won't find someone as lovely as you,
But I should care and I do.

Maybe I won't find someone as lovely as you,
But I should care and I do.
