Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
   We have even more sad news today.
  Robert "Bunker" Hill, Class of 1961, brother of the late Barbara Hill Hawkins, passed away at home in Newport News on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at the age of 72.

NEWPORT NEWS - Robert "Bunker" B. Hill, Jr., 72, passed away November 19, 2015 at home in his bed.

He was a native of Newport News, Virginia and also a resident for 71 years. He was an Entrepreneur, as well as a Clerk for USPS. He retired after 32 years of working there. He was also Postmaster at Yorktown, Naval Weapons and Coast Guard.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert B. Hill, Sr.; his mother, Dorothy B. Strader; and his sister, Barbara Hawkins.

Survivors include his wife, Lynda Hill; two daughters, Sharon C. Urban and Sara Travenski; four sons, Robert B. Hill, III, Richard B. Hill (Rose), John R. Hill (Nia) and David Travenski (Becky); 15 grandchildren, Bryan S. Frye (Christie), Katherine Sheppard (Michael), Lauren Hill (Matt), Ryan Hill, Robbie Hill (Timber), Miranda Hill, Elizabeth Hill, Shin Justin Alba, and Sophie and Summer Travenski, and baby, Patricia Hill; and five great-grandchildren, Todd Hill, Kyleigh Hill, Michael Sheppard, Gabriel Ignacio, and Annabel Frye.

The family will receive friends at Peninsula Funeral Home on Monday, November 23, 2015 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at Peninsula Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 24, at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Gino Bryant, with the burial to follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at
