Hi Carol -

In Va. Beach this event for us was worse than Isabel. We had some siding blown away, a small tool shed was demolished and limbs down from my GIANT live oak. No damage to the roof tho; and all the people and barn-yard animals, including the Meercats, are traumatized but well.

This brief note is to let you know that my household and immediate neighbors in Va. Beach survived the Nor'easter with only minimal damage.

Now this;

I wonder if you know what a treasure you are? The labor of love you perform on-line for all your extended classmates may have greater value than even you know about. The forum that you provide for us (even the WHS types like myself) is not only fun and informative, but has become a warm and comforting place where sorrows are sometimes shared, honors are bestowed, and happy life events are celebrated.

Your love for family, friends, and classmates rings clear like a bell.

      John Sweetie, when I stopped sobbing, I marveled at how perfectly timed was the arrival of your note. It was one of those moments when I was feeling rather crummy, and almost - almost - decided in my mind that most of y'all were without power now anyway, and it wouldn't really hurt if I simply crawled back into bed and said, "Oh, phooey, no one will even notice."

   P. S.  I would have said, "WOWZERONI-RINI-ROONI-ROOTIE-TOOT-TOOTIE!!!", but that would have been insensitive under the circumstances!

   Now I don't know how many I answered and how many I missed.... Ah, well, I toldja was a zombie!  If and when my full faculties return, I'll try it again!  And there's no real evidence to substantiate your next remark, but I thank you for the compliment!

Betty got through the surgery but had to go right back in for a blood clot. She's having a rough time but she is alive.

When I went to see her today she was only semi-awake but I still got a smile out of her. When she ask how she looked I told her just like Attila-the hun---- the 1932 movie version- not the cartoon.

   Laughter is one of the best forms of healing, Linda May!  I tried to find a reference for your movies (I wanted to see the picture), but I struck out there, too.  I only found this one which is listed in this same source as both 1954 and 1958 (?!?), but as you're much more of an authority on old movies than I, I bow to your words:
