You Go to My Head

“Beauty is worse than wine; it intoxicates both the holder and the beholder.”

- Aldous Huxley
(26 July 1894 - 22 Nov 1963)

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

You know how it is once Frank starts singing to me. Besides, I already had the matching graphics!
I'm giving you both of his recorded versions. Oh, sure, several other people recorded it as well, but seriously, it's all about Frank, right?

(The second one is much more beautiful than the first. How nice to improve with age!)

BONUS #1 - - You Go to My Head - Frank Sinatra, 1946

BONUS #2 - - You Go to My Head - Frank Sinatra, 1960

"You Go to My Head" is a 1938 popular song composed by J. Fred Coots with lyrics by Haven Gillespie.[1] Numerous versions of the song have been recorded, and it has since become a pop & jazz standard.

The song was recorded in 1938 by Teddy Wilson with a vocal by Nan Wynn. The same year it was recorded by Billie Holiday[2]

On 23 April 1961, Judy Garland performed the song at the Judy at Carnegie Hall concert.

From Butch Ragland ('63) of CO - 11/12/16, 10:49 AM:

Hi Carol:

Just wanted to say thanks for the most recent prayers and let you know I am out of the uniboot and my remaining foot seems to be healing properly.

I am now requesting prayer for my best friend and wife, Ethel Ragland, as she once again enters the hospital for replacement of her right knee; now that her left has healed.

I just looked back and noticed that over the last couple years if appears I have had many prayer request to our Typhoon Gang; and it seems they have all been answered thus far; which tells me our old Typhoon Prayer Warriors must have a pretty good connection with our Good Lord!

Ethel will go in for hopefully this last surgery on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 and should be home by the 17th if all goes well. She has done great on the left knee full replacement and the outlook is good for this surgery!

Again, thank you for your continually keeping our family in the prayer circle and God Bless All Our Typhoon Family!

And God Bless you for this great service you provide to all our Typhoon Classmates!

Thank you, Butch! We're so glad to hear your great news, and we'll be keeping Ethel and her physicians in our prayers!

The man charged into the jewelry shop, slammed his fists angrily on the showcase, removed a wristwatch from his pocket and shook it under the nose of the owner.

You Go To My Head

Words by Haven Gillespie (06 Feb 1888 - 14 Mar 1975)

Music by J. Fred Coots (02 May 1897 - 08 Apr 1985), 1938

Recorded by Frank Sinatra, 1946 and 1960

You go to my head and you linger like a haunting refrain
And I find you spinning 'round in my brain
Like the bubbles in a glass of champagne
You go to my head like a sip of sparkling Burgundy brew
And I find the very mention of you
Like the kicker in a julep or two

The thrill of the thought that you might give a thought to my plea
Cast a spell over me
Still I say to myself get a hold of yourself
Can't you see that it never can be

You go to my head with a smile that makes my temperature rise
Like a summer with a thousand Julys
You intoxicate my soul with your eyes
Though I'm certain that this heart of mine
Hasn't a ghost of a chance in this crazy romance
You go to my head
You go to my head
