Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
I was quite saddened
this morning to read of the death of
Susan Bauz, Class of 1963, who
passed away in Connecticut on Sunday, November 02, 2014 at the age of 68.
She was the
sister of
Paul Bauz ('65) of VA, and of the late
Marie Bauz Holtgreve.
Susan and I were in French classes and French Club as well as Tri-Hi-Y together at Newport News High School, and I remember her with fondness. I last saw her eleven years ago at the 40-Year Reunion of her class. She will be missed by many.

NEWPORT NEWS - Susan, 68,
peacefully passed away on November 2, 2014 in the beauty of rural
Connecticut. Only six months had passed since her diagnosis of bladder
cancer.
Susan was born on December 19, 1945 in Miami, Fla. and grew up in Newport News. After living in Washington, D.C., Mexico, and France, she returned to Newport News in 1979 and built a rich and diverse life that included a varied career spanning movement and art therapy with elderly adults and adults with intellectual disabilities, serving homeless families, and various retail positions where she met many longtime friends. She was a committed volunteer with the American Theater in Phoebus. Susan enjoyed drum circles and often joined Earth Rising gatherings. |
