It was with great sadness that I read of the passing of Charles this morning. Although I had not seen him since high school, I do remember him as being a fine young man, with a smile always on his face. I also remember him playing on the Warwick High School football team, where he was quite gifted.
My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his children and loved ones....

From Jamey Douglas Bacon ('66) of VA - 11/02/06 - "Charlie":

Thanks so much for putting Charlie's obituary in (as a Newsletter); I have heard from people that I haven't heard from in years. Thanks to    Mr. (David) Spriggs ('64 - of VA) too. The service was beautiful, everyone did well until they did the gun salute and played Taps.

Thanks again, Jamey

Yes, I am usually fine up until that point myself.....

Thank you again for letting us know, Jamey.  That's one of the main reasons we exist on earth, is it not - not merely to rejoice with those who rejoice, but to weep with those who weep, and to comfort those who mourn?

You'll continue to be in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
