Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
   There is yet more sad news this Thursday afternoon.     Harold Harding, Class of 1961, passed away at home in Hayes on Monday, October 24, 2011 at the age of 68 following a long struggle with congestive heart failure.

   His younger brother,  Larry Harding, Class of 1965, tragically drowned just three days after his high school graduation.

HAYES - Harold Harding, 68, passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Oct. 24, 2011. Harold was born in Newport News and attended Newport News High School. He became a resident of Gloucester in 1979. Harold was employed with Lamberth's Building Materials, Gloucester store until 1998 and retired in 2006 from Haabtec Inc., as a machinist. He was a member of Coastal Community Church, Yorktown, where he served as a greeter. Harold enjoyed attending services with his church family and cared greatly about them. Harold enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandson Brandon. He also enjoyed his wonderful friends in the Haabtec Social Club.   Harold Harding   He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Trevillian Harding; daughters, Beth Harding, Susan Harding Flippin and husband, Stephen; grandson; and buddy, Brandon Flippin. A Celebration of Life Service officiated by Pastor Shaun Brown and Pastor Eric Robinson will be held at 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at Coastal Community Church. The family would like to thank Dr. J. P. Jones and the staff at Tidewater Heart Institute for the care Harold has received these last 36 years. Harold will be deeply missed by family and friends. October 27, 2011   Mary & Family, We are deeply saddened by your loss, he was a wonderful man, and loved you all completely. We know he will be missed, even though we have not seen him for several years, we are all at a loss for this loving human being. We are so blessed to have had you, as our neighbors for the many years we did in Millwood. May the good memories carry you through the toughest times ahead and God sets him free from all his pain.
