10/19/16 - NNHS Newsletter - I Still Cry

“Don't be ashamed to weep; 'tis right to grieve. Tears are only water, and flowers, trees,
and fruit cannot grow without water. But there must be sunlight also. A wounded heart will
heal in time, and when it does, the memory and love of our lost ones is sealed inside to comfort us.”

- Brian Jacques, Taggerung
(15 June 1939 - 05 Feb2011)

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

This lovely sad song from 2001 (for which I could find no midi file, even if it were still able to be heard on your computer) has been replaying in my mind all week.

Today would have been      my daddy's (the late Robert Buckley - John Marshall HS - '25) (19 Oct 1907 - 25 Apr 1960) 109th birthday. I still cry sometimes when I think of him, too.

I Still Cry

Recorded by Ilse deLange, 2001
(b. 13 May 1977)

I'm making flowers out of paper
While darkness takes the afternoon
I know that they won't last forever
But real ones fade away to soon

Chorus :
I still cry sometimes when I remember you
I still cry sometimes when I hear your name
I said goodbye and I know you're alright now
But when the leaves start falling down I still cry

It's just that I recall September
It's just that I still hear your song
It's just I can't seem to remember
Forever more those days are gone

Chorus :
I still cry sometimes when I remember you
I still cry sometimes when I hear your name
I said goodbye and I know you're alright now
But when the leaves start falling down I still cry

I still cry sometimes when I remember you
I still cry sometimes when I hear your name
I said goodbye and I know you're alright now
But when the leaves start falling down I still cry
But when the leaves start falling down I still cry
