Anna D. Parrous
(d. 05 Oct 2010)

"May her memory be eternal."

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

There is still more sad news.    Anna Parrous. mother of Arthur Parrous of VA, James Parrous of VA, Bessie Parrous Evanchyk of VA, and Vivian Parrous Swanson of VA, passed away in Hampton on Tuesday, October 5, 2010 at the age of 87.

Beyond the fact that she once owned a popular local restaurant, I think she had a stronger connection to Newport News High School itself, though I have not yet been able to confirm this fact.

From the Daily Press - 10/07/10:

To all of Anna's family. we were so sorry to learn of your loss. Anna was such a kind and gentle woman. My husband, Alex, and I would often go to the Westwood for lunch during the time my husband's office was close by. She was always so warm and welcoming. I hope that you will find comfort in knowing that Anna was much loved. May her memory be eternal.

Bessie, Vivian, Jimmy and Arthur:
We are so sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. We always enjoyed her company along with your aunt Olympia. They were great to be with and many times quite funny. We will certainly miss them both. They were always together and now it is comforting to know that they will continue to be together. We are still in Greece. We will light a candle for your Mama in her church.
With sincere sympathy and love,

To Bessie and all of her family, I am so sorry about the loss of your mom. Some of my best memories are of coming to see you at Westwood. Your mother was such a hard working, sweet lady. I know you all will miss her greatly. If I can help in anyway please let me know.

In You Rejoice
(O Tebi Radujetsja)

Liturgy of St. Basil - Tone 6

(English adaptation by Edward Sedor)

All creation rejoices in You,
O You who are full of grace,
the host of angels and all mankind.
O holy temple and spiritual paradise,
the glory of virgins,
from whom God was made flesh and became a little Child,
and is our God before all ages.

For He made You womb His throne,
and more spacious than the heavens.
All creation rejoices in You,
O You who are full of grace,
glory to You.
