Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
TWO MORE DAYS!!! Then we'll all have a party!
GUEST BOOK SIGNERS:
1. Millard Hanbury (Norview HS - '63) of AL - 10/18/05:
I'm
from Norfolk, Norview 1963, and stumbled on your website by chance looking
for Roger Clark's theme song. What a great site and huge effort by everyone
involved. Norview didn't even have a 40th reunion for the '63 crowd. Sad. I
have enjoyed the visit with my old neighbors across the 'Roads.
Thanks for signing in, Millard.
I see you've already made contact with
http://www.nnhs65.00freehost.com/TYPHOONMART.html http://www.nnhs65.00freehost.com/CD-MIX.html I know just how much you're going to enjoy them! The way they'll transport you back in time is magical. You're more than welcome to join our merry band: http://www.nnhs65.00freehost.com/alumni-list.html As you can see from the
listings, the title of the page is now a misnomer, but what can you do?
We don't have a Pilot in our midst. Well, that's not true. As a
matter of fact, there are quite a few pilots here - but you'd be the first
Norview Pilot!

From Joe Madagan ('57) of FL to
Bobby Turpin ('58) of VA - 10/18/05:
Hi, Bobby:
That was a great photo of you and Jesse (Kersey - '58), et al during the walk-a-thon. Any chance you might have a photo of Willie (Turpin - '57) and John when they were serving in the U.S. Navy? It seems to me that they were together on a cruise in our youth. If you have it, please share it with Carol for the Famous Sailors page. It would certainly make a great addition to the page and salute the TYPHOON. TYPHOON Regards,
Joe Madagan
Ahhh, Famous Sailors!
One of my favorite pages!
Thanks, Adonis! And see you soon, Bobby! |
From Glenn Dye ('60) of TX - 10/18/05 - "Computer Down":
To all my e-mail friends:
My computer will be out of commission for the
next two weeks. After that, drop me a line Thank you, YOWZERS!!! I need not remind y'all of the terror such words strike in my heart! Thanks, Glenn! I certainly hope all goes well! We'll check back with you later! |
From Chandler Nelms (Hampton HS - '63) of MD - 10/17/05:
Carol, Thanks so much for doing the picture thing. It seems that EVERYONE is really enjoying them. I know I am! What a super idea of yours that was! Thanks again, Chandler!!! Bass Weejuns and 3 ˝ inch heels. Now there’s a dichotomy! Oh, not at all, Chandler Darlin'! I'm actually taking four pairs of shoes: 2" black patent leather pumps for traveling, the Weejuns for the Friday night dance, the 3-1/2" black silk heels for the Saturday night dance, my new pair of 3-1/2" heels for Sunday morning, and hopefully I'll still be able to find another pair for the Saturday morning tour of Our Old Stomping Grounds. Otherwise I'll look like a geek, but they're used to me. Less I forget……To Everyone in the NNHS Class of 1965, may I wish ALL of you the most joyous of reunions. Enjoy yourselves, love each other, and above all be safe and HAVE FUN! I’ll be thinking of you and wishing I was there. Chandler Nelms Thank you, Sweetie!
We'll be wishing you were there, too! And if you can pull it off,
cancel all your plans and show up and surprise us all.

From Dave Spriggs ('64) of VA - 10/18/05 - "Sandy Paxson":
From
My Cousin, Cheryl White Wilson (John Marshall HS - '64) of VA - 10/18/05:
From Dave Arnold ('65) of VA to
My Cousin,
Cheryl White Wilson (John Marshall
HS - '64) of VA - 10/19/05:
Glad to hear you'll be
coming. You can simply pay at the door, and the cost is $25.00 per
person. We'll have some music Friday night using the CD set from the
Class of '64, and I'm sure there will be room to dance. If not we'll
make room. Glad you'll be there to assist
in keeping Carol under control.
Dave Sorry, Dave!
FAT CHANCE OF THAT!!! LA-LA-LA!!!
|
From Me ('65) of NC - 10/19/05:
Okay, but
let's get back to the issue of The Shoes. I posted this comment in the 09/28/05 Newsletter: "As for the differences in Friday and Saturday nights, Friday is more casual, both in dress and atmosphere. The food is lighter, and there's no program. Saturday we dress a bit fancier, the fellas were jackets and ties and such, the food is a little heavier, and there's a short program. BOTH nights will feature GREAT OLDIES MUSIC and DANCING (YEA!) and SUPER FUN and CONVERSATION!" Sooooo, is this right, or what?!? Oh, well, it's too late. That's what I'M doing, anyway! WILD GIGGLES!!! |
From Dave Spriggs ('64) of VA - 10/18/05 - "Attendees":
Carol, Just spoke with Faith Strickland Groom ('64 - of VA). She and husband, Nelson, are attending Saturday night. Also got an e-mail from Dave (Arnold - '65 - of VA), who got an e-mail from Angie (Ray Smith - '64- of VA) and Glen (Davenport - '63 - of VA), who are attending. It keeps getting better ..... D Oh, yes, it does! http://www.nnhs65.00freehost.com/reunion-page.html http://www.nnhs65.00freehost.com/reunion2005-65.html http://www.nnhs65.00freehost.com/reunion2005-attending.html Thanks so much, David! See you Friday night! And you owe me some dances! |
From Melody Clendenin (Warwick HS - '66) and Jimmy DeBerry ('64) of VA -
10/18/05:
Carol,
I'm sorry that Jim and
I will not be able to attend the reunion. But Jim's brother, Wayne,
will be there, and I know you will enjoy meeting his wife, Vicky.
She is so much fun!!! Don't believe anything she tells you about us:)
I remember visiting
West Point to see the light with an NNHS
boy who will remain unnamed. ('Twasn't Jimmy.) I was scared to death
and spent the whole time on the floor of the car whimpering that I
wanted to go home. Never did see the light. You can imagine what a fun
date I was.
Have a wonderful
time, Carol!! Dance the night away! I'll look for pictures in the
newsletter.
Melody DeBerry
But thank you for this precious image of you and Jimmy! Oh, and
And thanks for your Lights of West Point memory, Melody! That's hysterical!!! And lest I forget where to find all the spooky tales, and just in time for the reunion, I at last made the page: http://www.nnhs65.00freehost.com/lights-of-west-point.html It links directly from the front page. I hope y'all enjoy it. Thanks again,
I'll dance both nights away, Melody, and I'll enjoy seeing Wayne and Vicky, and I'll have images to post right away, but I'm still gonna miss y'all! |
From Me ('65) of NC - 10/19/05:

never found. Instead I came across this listing for the

||
Our deepest sympathies are extended to Shirley and her entire family at this time. |
So once again,
we're ending on a sad note amidst all the joy and celebration, but that is what
life is all
about - joy tinged with pain. Were it not so, we could not appreciate the
wonder and happiness.
Y'all take care of each other! TYPHOONS FOREVER!
Love to all, Carol

It's My Party
(Leslie Gore, 1963)
Nobody knows where my Johnny has
gone;
Judy left the same time.
Why was he holding her hand
When he's supposed to be mine?
It's my party and I'll cry if I want to,
Cry if I want to, cry if I want to,
You would cry too if it happened to you.
Play all my records, keep dancing all night,
But leave me alone for a while.
'Til Johnny's dancing with me,
I have no reason to smile.
It's my party and I'll cry if I want to,
Cry if I want to, cry if I want to,
You would cry too if it happened to you.
Judy and Johnny just walked through that door
Like a queen with her king.
Oh, what a birthday surprise:
Judy's wearing his ring.
It's my party and I'll cry if I want to,
Cry if I want to, cry if I want to,
You would cry too if it happened to you.
