Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
I thought this

10/10/09, 7:123 AM - "back":
Hi Guys
I saw the back doc Friday and he said he had seen worse looking spines, but mine isn't pretty.
Great news is NO SURGERY! I wouldn't have done it anyway. Now I see another doctor next week to TALK about injections. Still not something I 'm not crazy about, but the colder and wetter it gets the harder it is to get around and the worse it hurts.
I know - Old Age Stinks!
Judy
YOWZERS and AMEN!
Hang in there, Judy!

From Linda May Bond Crayton ('66) of VA - 10/09/09 - "To
(Wayne)
Stokes
('65 - of VA)":
Dear Wayne,
I dearly love to see the birthday section fill up with faces! And I love
that we get to share all those birthdays for a whole week!
Think of you, I do. For the entire week, you bet ya. You are in my heart and
mind wishing you a great birthday and life. We are so lucky to have you!
So, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Wayne.
Linda May ' 66
P.S.
Where the devil is
Chip Clark
('65 - of Northern VA)? I miss his pictures.
Thank you, Linda
May, I agree!
And by leaving the
birthdays in place for an entire week, there's far less chance that I will
miss them due to unforeseen circumstances.
As for Chippy, I miss him, too.
I can only surmise that when his spam filters tightened at work (which they
did), he was no longer able to access the Newsletters.
I saw his brother,
Peyton Clark ('68) of NC,
last fall at his reunion and talked to
him for quite a while. He assured me that Chip was well and happy, so
that's a good thing!

FINALLY:
From ArcaMax Jokes - 10/09/09:
Felix the Cat
My aunt's neighbor in
New York had a beautiful
black cat, named Felix, who spent his days outside and came indoors at night.
One cool October evening, he disappeared. The neighbor searched for him in vain
for several days. The following spring, however, Felix reappeared, looking
healthy and clean. She figured he's been out sowing his wild oats.
Everything was back to normal until that autumn, when Felix disappeared again.
The next spring, he returned. Perplexed, my aunt's friend began asking neighbors
for clues. Finally, she rang the bell of an older couple who lived down the
street.
"A black cat?" the woman said. "Oh, yes! My husband and I hated to see him out in the cold, so we bought a cat carrier. We take him to Florida with us every winter."

Telltale Signs of Being a Mother
* Your feet stick to grape jelly on the kitchen floor--and you
don't care.
* You can't find your cordless phone, so you ask a friend to call you, and you
run around the house madly, following the sound until you locate the phone
downstairs in the laundry basket.
* Popsicle's become a food staple.
* Your favorite television show is a cartoon.
* You're so desperate for adult conversation that you spill your guts to the
telemarketer that calls and HE hangs up on YOU!
* You buy cereal with marshmallows in it.
* You count the sprinkles on each kid's cupcake to make sure they're equal.
* You have time to shave only one leg at a time.
* You hide in the bathroom to be alone.
* Your kid throws up and you catch it.
* You get up at 5:30 AM and you have no time to eat, sleep, drink or go to the
bathroom, and yet... you still managed to gain 10 pounds.

Signs Your Girlfriend is Going to
Dump You...
-- Your visa card and your belt both hit their limit.
-- She's been wearing an engagement ring for three weeks, but you don't recall
proposing to her.
-- She just started a college course that meets seven nights a week.
-- She says she has to tell you something... on Jerry Springer.
-- Whenever she introduces you it's always, "I would like you to meet an old
friend of mine..."
-- She leaves a message on your phone and identifies herself by both her first
and last names.
-- Your other girlfriend told you so.
-- The dartboard behind your photo on her wall.
-- Her girlfriends look at you, tilt their heads, and say, "You haven't got a
clue, do you?"

Corcovado / Quiet Nights
of Quiet Stars
Written by
Antonio Carlos Jobim
(25 Jan 1927 – 08 Dec 1994)
English
lyrics written by
Gene Lees, 1962
(b. 08 Feb 1928)
Quiet nights of
quiet stars, quiet chords from my guitar Floating on the silence that surrounds us. Quiet thoughts and quiet dreams, quiet walks by quiet streams. Climbing hills where lovers go to watch the world below together. We will live eternally in this mood of reverie Away from all the earthly cares around us My world was dull, each minute, until I found you in it And all at once, the happiness I knew Became these quiet nights of loving you. We will live eternally in this mood of reverie Away from all the earthly cares around us My world was dull, each minute, until I found you in it And all at once, the happiness I knew Became these quiet nights of loving you. |
