Her life was filled with two joys - her love of God, including her church, and her family. She gave freely to both and showed kindness to all she met, meeting needs where and when she could. She was a member at Northside Christian Church for 77 years; a beloved member of the Praymates class. She lived out her service in many areas - singing in the choir, teaching both adults and children, advocating for missionaries, studying with the Ladies Bible study, and being a member of KIT. Her love of God was evident in her life and the example she set had an enormous effect on so many people. To say she will be missed does not fully explain the loss her family and friends feel, but we look forward to worshipping in Heaven with her. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be sent to Northside Christian Church, 1300 George Washington Memorial Highway, Yorktown, VA 23693. Visitation will be Friday evening, September 19 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Northside Christian Church. Interment will follow at Peninsula Memorial Park. Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. View and post condolences on our online guestbook at dailypress.com/guestbooks. Published in the
Daily Press on September 17, 2014. |

Taylor and I
extend our sympathy to the family of Louise. We loved
her deeply. She was a wonderful Christian lady in every
aspect of her life. She was fun, devoted to God and such
a supporter of our ministry. We will miss her also, but
look forward to being with her in Heaven.

Abide With Me
Words by Henry F. Lyte, 1847
Music by William H. Monk, 1861
Abide with me; fast falls the
eventide;
The darkness deepens; Lord with me abide.
When other helpers fail and comforts flee,
Help of the helpless, O abide with me.
Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day;
Earth's joys grow dim; its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see;
O Thou who changest not, abide with me.
Not a brief glance I beg, a passing word,
But as Thou dwell'st with Thy disciples, Lord,
Familiar, condescending, patient, free.
Come not to sojourn, but abide with me.
Come not in terrors, as the King of kings,
But kind and good, with healing in Thy wings;
Tears for all woes, a heart for every plea.
Come, Friend of sinners, thus abide with me.
Thou on my head in early youth didst smile,
And though rebellious and perverse meanwhile,
Thou hast not left me, oft as I left Thee.
On to the close, O Lord, abide with me.
I need Thy presence every passing hour.
What but Thy grace can foil the tempter's power?
Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.
I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness.
Where is death's sting? Where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.
Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.
