When I Grow Too Old to Dream

I have always been amazed at the way an ordinary observer lends so much more
credence and attaches so much more importance to waking events than to those
occurring in dreams.... Man... is above all the plaything of his memory.”

- André Breton,
Manifesto of Surrealism,” 1924
(09 Feb 1896 - 28 Sept 1966)

BONUS DREAM RECIPE: - Dream Recipes - "This dessert is no dream..."

From - 08/24/14:

Three men were sitting on a park bench. The one in the middle was reading a newspaper; the others were pretending to fish. They baited imaginary hooks, cast lines, and reeled in their catch.

A passing policeman stopped to watch the spectacle and asked the man in the middle if he knew the other two.

“Oh yes,” he said. “They‘re my friends.”

“In that case,” warned the officer, “you’d better get them out of here!”

“Yes, sir!” the man replied, and he began rowing furiously.

When I Grow Too Old to Dream

Lyrics by
Oscar Hammerstein II (12 July 1895 – 23 Aug 1960)

Music by Sigmund Romberg (29 July 1887 – 09 Nov 1951), 1934
From the 1935 movie 'The Night Is Young'

We have been gay, going our way
Life has been beautiful, we have been young
After you've gone, life will go on
Like an old song we have sung

When I grow too old to dream
I'll have you to remember
When I grow too old to dream
Your love will live in my heart

So, kiss me my sweet
And so let us part
And when I grow too old to dream
That kiss will live in my heart

And when I grow too old to dream
Your love will live in my heart
