We
have more sad if somewhat belated news to report this Sunday.
Vern Kersey,
Class of 1963, passed
away in his home in Nurnberg, Germany on Friday, July 26, 2013 at the age of 68.

NURNBERG, GERMANY - Vernon
Hayworth "Buddy" Kersey, Jr. passed away on July 26, 2013 at his home in
Nurnberg, Germany, with his loving wife Christa, of 37 years at his side.
Vernon was born in Newport News, Va. Jan. 15th 1945, where he grew up and attended NNHS. He joined the military in 1964, and retired in Nurnberg after serving his country 21 years with a honorable discharge. His Army career included tours of duty in South Vietnam, Thailand and Germany. After retiring in 1985 Vernon went to work for Leonische Drahtwerke AG (cable Company) in Nurnberg; he retired in 2008, after 23 years of service. Vern is preceded in death by his parents, Inez and Vernon Kersey, sister Barbara Pizzeck and two nephews', John Pizzeck and Charles Kersey Jr. |

He is survived by
his wife Christa Graser Kersey, Nurnberg; a son, Michael Shane Kersey (Angela),
grandchildren, Porsha Lynn and Dorian, all of Hampton; sister, Carolyn Green of
MS; brother, Charles Kersey (Mildred) of Hampton; brother-in-law Jack Pizzeck of
MS; and many special nieces and a nephew.
Buddy, as he is
known to his family, was a great husband, wonderful brother, amazing uncle and a
