Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
We have another sad edition of the NNHS Newsletter this Sunday evening. Allen West, Warwick High School Class of 1962, passed away at his home in Newport News on Friday, August 20, 2010 at the age of 66.
From Karrin Williams Frankie (Warwick HS - '61) of VA - 08/22/10, 1:35 PM - "Woodrow Wilson classmate dies":
Read in the paper today that Allen West, younger brother of Howard, died Friday. No other details. His wife took my place when I left the Daily Press in ’68. I ran into him several years ago at his place up at the Pottery.....
Karrin
I'm so sorry to learn of this,
Karrin; thank you for letting us know.

August 22, 2010 Thank you for visiting Dad's guest book. We love him so much and are grateful to the Lord for providing him with a beautiful life and now the wonder of heaven.
May you feel the Lord's
arm around you. Know that there will be no more death or mourning,
or crying. & that one day you will be reunited again. Love Linda &
Pud
The Rossettini Family extend their condolences to Mona, Amanda our
daughter in law and to Carrie. We were all so fond of Al and will
miss him. I'm glad we had a chance to be with him at Hannah's
birthday party. I, for one, will miss that big bear hug he would
give me. He was just a sweet guy.
I'm sorry for your loss, I know this is painful, and hangs heavy. I know you girls are strong and will support each other during this time. I have so many fond childhood memories of your dad. He built you the best back yard fort ever!! I remember he always had a project in the garage, and I loved the smell of his pipe! ~ Emilie Baker Underwood, Williamsburg, Virginia
We are thinking of you,
Manda, Carrie and especially Mona. We are sending our condolences
and love your way. The Young Family
~ Bonnie Young, Redmond, Washington
As you grieve, know that we are
thinking of you and honoring the memory of Al. We take comfort in
knowing he is no longer suffering, and we are sending you prayers of
peace.
~ Laura & Jason Paquette, Suffolk, Virginia
Amanda your family is in my
thoughts and prayers.
~ Alice Williams
We know your loss is heavy and we
will be thinking of you and your families during this time. Our
condolences go to you and we will be praying for you. We will always
remember the kindnesses he showed my mother and father during very
adverse times. May you seek God's strength during the coming days.
Mildred and Frank Lowe ~ Frank Lowe, Richmond, Virginia ![]() We will fondly remember Al through the years as a great neighbor and longtime friend. We honor his life and memory. When Graham was a little boy, Al called him the white tornado, because Graham was very blond and was always on the move! Now they are together in God's garden, where someday we will join them in happiness and light. We hold you in our hearts with love and prayers. Claire Ann and Sam ~ Claire Ann and Sam Stevenson, Fredericksburg, Virginia
Carrie, words can not express the
sorrow we feel for your loss. We know GOD has called him home. We
pray for peace for you and your family, and that one day in HIS time
we will all be together. We Love You.
~ Sam & Sunny Henry, Lake Jackson, Texas

My
Faith Looks Up to Thee
Words by Ray
Palmer, 1830
Music by
Lowell Mason (08
Jan 1792 - 11 Aug 1872), 1832
My faith looks up to Thee,
Thou Lamb of Calvary,
Savior divine!
Now hear me while I pray,
Take all my guilt away,
O let me from this day
Be wholly Thine!
May Thy rich grace impart
Strength to my fainting heart,
My zeal inspire!
As Thou hast died for me,
O may my love to Thee,
Pure warm, and changeless be,
A living fire!
While life's dark maze I tread,
And griefs around me spread,
Be Thou my Guide;
Bid darkness turn to day,
Wipe sorrow's tears away,
Nor let me ever stray
From Thee aside.
When ends life's transient dream,
When death's cold sullen stream
Over me roll;
Blest Savior, then in love,
Fear and distrust remove;
O bear me safe above,
A ransomed soul!
