Eileen Casey Sparkman Ferguson High School Class of 1968 |
Dear
Friends and Schoolmates,
I was shocked and
saddened this morning to read of the passing of
Eileen Casey Sparkman, Ferguson High School Class of 1968.
Widow of
Steve Sparkman,
Class of 1963
(01 Feb 1944 - 04 Feb 1999),
Eileen was an active participant of the NNHS
Class of 1963 reunions
and maintained many friendships with Steve's
classmates.
She passed away on the Outer Banks of North Carolina during her sleep on
Tuesday morning, August 16, 2011 at the age of 62. I only met her twice,
in 2003 and 2008, but was struck by her friendly and vivacious personality.

I am so
very sorry to hear the news of Mrs. Sparkman. I just
loved and admired her so much! Growing up, she was
always so good to me and SO MUCH fun to be with. She
had all the parents & kids laughing. It is just a
shame to loose another great member of the Sea
Turkeys.
I was blessed that I was able to visit and hug your mother back in March at my Mom's memorial. She was a very special woman and will be missed greatly! My thoughts are with you, Stephen & Stacey, the Monks, and all the family members. August 18, 2011
Stacey:
Paul and I are so sorry to hear of your family's
loss. I'll always remember Eileen as being full of
life and love for her friends and family. I am
grateful that she was the Mistress of Ceremonies for
our wedding 21 years ago! She made everything fun.
May the peace of God be with you during these
difficult days.
August 18, 2011 Mike, Stacey, and family, My heart goes out to you today and in the days ahead. I will be keeping you all in my prayers. May your memories bring you comfort. ~ Bettie Goins-Rankin, Toano, Virginia August 18, 2011 Heather and John

I am so
sorry to hear about the passing of Eileen. For the
past several Ferguson High School reunions (class of
'68), I had the pleasure of having several very
interesting conversations with her, while at the
reunions. I will certainly miss her at the next
reunion.

O Sacred Head Now
Wounded
Text: Anonymous;
trans. by Paul Gerhardt and James W. Alexander
Music: Hans L. Hassler, 1564-1612; harm. by J.S. Bach, 1685-1750
1. O sacred Head, now wounded,
with grief and shame weighed down,
now scornfully surrounded
with thorns, thine only crown:
how pale thou art with anguish,
with sore abuse and scorn!
How does that visage languish
which once was bright as morn!
2. What thou, my Lord, has suffered
was all for sinners' gain;
mine, mine was the transgression,
but thine the deadly pain.
Lo, here I fall, my Savior!
'Tis I deserve thy place;
look on me with thy favor,
vouchsafe to me thy grace.
3. What language shall I borrow
to thank thee, dearest friend,
for this thy dying sorrow,
thy pity without end?
O make me thine forever;
and should I fainting be,
Lord, let me never, never
outlive my love for thee.
