Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
Today's Newsletter
theme is being revisited (with but a few changes in the bonus videos)
from only one year ago today, partially because I really like it, but primarily because I'm in a
big ol' hurry - plus I'm a
slacker!

BONUS #1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XZFsC5CupCU - Blue Skies - Frank Sinatra and Tommy Dorsey's Orchestra - C'mon, you had to know I'd give Frank star billing!
BONUS #2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aglqFRvEdPw - Blue Skies - Betty Hutton
BONUS #3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tr6EldSFwOI - Blue Skies - Ella Fitzgerald
BONUS #4 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkjXieeVSJk - Blue Skies - Jim Reeves
BONUS #5 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSCplj40uuY - Blue Skies - Willie Nelson
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irving_Berlin:
Written after his first daughter's birth as a song just for her. In it he distilled his feelings about being married and a father for the first time: "Blue days, all of them gone; nothing but blue skies, from now on."[14] #1 for Ben Selvin with five other hits in 1927, besides being the first song performed by Al Jolson in the first feature sound film, "The Jazz Singer that same year." In 1946 it returned to the top 10 on the charts with Count Basie and Benny Goodman. In 1978, Willie Nelson made the song a #1 country hit — 52 years after it was written.[8]

A very clean and funny
video I thought all would enjoy performed by Miss North Carolina of
1963. Enjoy.
THIS TRULY IS A FUNNY LADY AND SHE USES NO FOUL LANGUAGE, NO BAD WORDS OF ANY KIND. I KNOW YOU WILL ENJOY IT. Here's a laugh for you. Her comedic focus is for seniors. She is HILARIOUS . . . . and her humor is clean! She calls her husband "left brain". . . . so you'll know who she is talking about! She was Miss North Carolina in 1963. http://www.youtube.com/watch_popup?v=L1_W0LCHwK4

From Judy Phillips Allen ('66) of VA - 08/11/10 - "FYI - The new CPR":
Some of you are
up on the latest in CPR, but I am sending this to everyone so that
you can share it with others. You don't have to take a class to save
a life. Of course, taking a class on First Aid and CPR is never a
waste of time. God bless you! JA Very good information.
IMPORTANT HEALTH INFO - THE NEW CPR COULD SAVE A LIFE
This short video will show you exactly what to do if someone
near you collapses and is presumably having a heart attack. You
could save a life, or a friend/loved one you share this video
with could save yours one day. Please pass it around. This is
the best demonstration I’ve seen, and the simplest explanation.

Carol,
Wow! The picture of the golf team sure
brings back some memories! I am fifth from the left, and
although I was never a great golfer, I always enjoyed having
the opportunity to play at
NNHS!
Thanks again for including me on your list. It's hard to believe how fast the years have passed. I will never forget those wonderful high school days at NNHS. The students, the faculty, and the spirit were truly outstanding! I can attribute my personal success to my magnificent NNHS teachers who prepared me for the University of Richmond and the Marshall/Wythe School of Law at William and Mary. Now I am retired and enjoy every moment I spend with by beautiful grandchildren! | |

FINALLY:
From ArcaMax Jokes - 08/16/10:
Creepy Castle
A young American tourist went on a guided tour of a creepy old castle.
At the end of the tour the guide asked her how she enjoyed it. She
admitted to being a bit worried about seeing a ghost in some of the dark
cobwebby rooms and passages.
"Don't worry" said the guide, "I've never seen a ghost all the time I've
been here."
"How long is that?" asked the girl.
"About three hundred years."

Blue Skies
Words and Music by
Irving Berlin,
1926
(11 May 1888 - 22 Sept 1989)
I was blue, just as
blue as I could be
Ev'ry day was a cloudy day for me
Then good luck came a-knocking at my door
Skies were gray but they're not gray anymore
Blue skies
Smiling at me
Nothing but blue skies
Do I see
Bluebirds
Singing a song
Nothing but bluebirds
All day long
Never saw the sun shining so bright
Never saw things going so right
Noticing the days hurrying by
When you're in love, my how they fly
Blue days
All of them gone
Nothing but blue skies
From now on
[2]
I should care if the wind blows east or west
I should fret if the worst looks like the best
I should mind if they say it cant be true
I should smile, that's exactly what I do
