Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
IT'S TRUE!!! It's really working again!
As you no doubt know by now, my beloved computer broke on May 12, and though it
was quickly replaced, re-accessing
my files proved to be infinitely more difficult - and turned me into a wild
woman. That was such a shame, too, 'cause you all
know what a sweetie-pie I really am!
Actually, these
images are now very misleading. I am so elated to be able to do what I do
again! Thank you all for your
patience and financial assistance during this time. I'd like to give a
special thanks to my # 5 son, Nathaniel; my daughter,
Adrienne; and to my friendly Army Specials Ops soldier, Joseph
(a.k.a. "Cute Stuff") for all their hard work and assistance
in getting me put back together. I've felt like Humpty Dumpty for so very
long now.

Carol,
Where are you? Haven’t heard from you in a while. You still
doing the NNHS Class of 65 Web page?Fred Eubank
From Bill Black ('66) of GA - 08/07/05:
Gentlemen, Gentlemen! Of COURSE I'm Still doing the Web page - and the Newsletters! I'm not dead yet, am I?!?
(Wait a minute - don't answer that......) Anyway, we're back in business. YEA!!!! Thanks, Guys!
And as yesterday was V-J Day plus 60 years, we have a special treat for you!
From Fred Field ('45) of CA - 08/08/05:
Hello Carol,
Mon. Aug. 8, 05
Good to see that the pump is working again.
Here is an advance copy of one of the stories on the disk being readied.
Sending it now because it is what I experienced on VJ-Day, 60 years ago this
coming Sunday,
August 14.
If you prefer, just hang on to it and publish whenever you like.
Fred
WOWZERONI, Fred! This is a fascinating and exciting account! I
was familiar with some of the things you
described, but most of them were totally new to me. Thanks so much for
sharing this important piece of history
with us!

(I'll find this a permanent easy-to-locate home soon....)
From Gail Kiger Bonsey (Ferguson HS - '73) of OR - 07/26/05:
THERE'S that image at last! How exciting!!! Thanks again, Gail!
From Norman Olshansky ('64) of FL - 08/07/05:
Oh, bless you, Norman! What a delight to hear glad tidings!! Congratulations on all your joy!
Do you know, I've
never been to either Florida or Wisconsin?!? No, I take that back.
In April of 1999, we were
up in Chicago on business, and just for the fun of it drove up Route 32 and
crossed over the state line into Kenosha
County just so I could have my picture taken and say that I'd been to Wisconsin.
Somehow not the same thing.......
Thanks again, Norman!
From Jean Poole Burton ('64) of RI - 08/08/05:
SO GLAD TO HEAR FROM YOU! Enjoy your
family. New England is not as hot as the rest of the country but we
have our days!
Love, Jeanb
Hi, Jean! Thanks, it's good to be back! I've really missed the banter!
From Fred Bowen ('60) of WA - 08/08/05:
Thanks, Freddie! I had such fun
crashing your reunion! (Thanks to Karen Weinstein Witte - '60 - of FL
for inviting
Dave Spriggs -'64 - of VA and me as guests!) I will be posting
images of that reunion very soon now.
From Tom Norris (Hampton HS - '73) of VA - 08/08/05:
Hey there ... are you gonna be in town
toward the end of August??? I have a new toy and will be
itching to get out on the road. Just got the tags today. Was gonna swing by your
abode. Here is
a quick pic. DARE ME to drive it to a NN reunion ... LOL!
Later ...

WOWZERONI, Tommee!!! Certainly, I'll be here
(typing away). Gimme a few days warning, 'cause I wanna
ride in that gorgeous new Vette! Hey, did ya keep the blue one, too??
Hmmm. I
suppose this means you'll want those four antique yearbooks back. I've
only had them since December.
Sigh.
And by all
means, drive that Krabba Kar to the next Typhoon Reunion! I still think
you ought to come in October as
the guest of David Whitley ('67). And you owe me a dance.
And speaking of the next reunion.......
From Dave Arnold ('65) of VA - 08/14/05 (to the Reunion Committee):
Okay, gang ....
another meeting this Thursday at Pam and Dave's at 7:00.
See you then.
Dave Arnold
Thanks, Dave!
Strangely, I will once again be unable to make it, but for the rest of y'all, do
you know what this means?
It means that the 40th Reunion of the Great Class of 1965 is just around the
corner!
|
HEY!! This means I'll actually finally be able to update this page! YAHOO!!! Stay tuned........
Meanwhile, y'all
gitcha reservations made. You have exactly 30 days to turn in your
reservations for the low, low price
of $100.00 per couple for both nights. And remember, this reunion is open
to ALL CLASSES!!! BE THERE!!! Pam
(Smith Arnold - '65 - of VA) keeps threatening to have even more fun
than I will. You don't wanna miss that!
And.......
From Dee Hodges Bartram
('66) of VA - 08/13/05:
SUPER-DE-DOOPER, DEE! I'm assuming that Dave and I will get to crash your Reunion as well! WILD GIGGLES!!!
From Judy Horton Lindstrom ('63) of FL - 08/10/05:
Dear Carol,
My youngest daughter, Wendy
Cimbora, is in Swansea (IL). Her husband, Brett, is in the Air Force
and
stationed at Scott Air Force Base. I was there in July for a few days. It is
indeed a small world. Have fun
and enjoy your family. Nice to hear from you again. Have a safe flight back.
Judy
Hey, Judy! How neat is that?!? I
didn't make it over to Swansea on this trip, but I do remember it fondly.
It has a great
little antique shop there. Illinois is known for its great antique and
collectible bargains anyway. Back when I was doing
my heaviest buying, it never ceased to amaze me how I could buy a Jadite bowl in
southern Illinois for $4.00, and cross
over the Mississippi River into Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and find the same bowl
selling for $8.00. Ahh, the good old
days!
http://www.nnhs65.00freehost.com/nostalgic-artifacts.html
Thanks again, Judy!
From Dave Spriggs ('64) of VA - 08/15/05 (thrilled beyond words that we're
operating once again):
OK, here is an image to upload:

BTW .... I won it
Thank you, Captain -
and congratulations on your super new card! How appropriate that you
should have won
that particular postcard! And YES, we have an actual web site
posting!!!

WOWZERS!!! I
don't know if y'all are as excited as I am, but let alone the fun of being back,
is the knowledge that
even though all of the systems are now "new and improved" and therefore are done
completely differently, I'm able
to figure out how to do them! And that means that I haven't lost as many
brain cells as I feared! SWEET!
Well, it's been
fun (you've no idea!), but I must run now. I have three months of backlog
- lots more things from lots
more people - to try to reintegrate into the site, so I'll save it for next
time.
Y'all have a good day - and take care of each other! TYPHOONS FOREVER!
Love to all, Carol

The Bitch Is Back
Music by Elton John
Lyrics by Bernie Taupin, 1974
I was justified when I was five
Raising cane, I spit in your eye
Times are changing, now the poor get fat
But the fever's gonna catch you when the bitch gets back
Eat meat on Friday that's alright
Even like steak on a Saturday night
I can bitch the best at your social do's
I get high in the evening sniffing pots of glue
I'm a bitch, I'm a bitch
Oh, the bitch is back
Stone cold sober as a matter of fact
I can bitch, I can bitch
`Cause I'm better than you
It's the way that I move
The things that I do
I entertain by picking brains
Sell my soul by dropping names
I don't like those, my _ _ _, what's that
Oh, it's full of nasty habits when the bitch gets back

was thinking more along the lines of Elton John's "The Bitch Is Back".
Should get a laugh from the Alumni.
"OTOH, "bitch" is not really your persona....."
It is now..............Thanks, Sweetie!
