There is even more sad news today.

Carolyn Holland Hornsby, Class of 196_, passed away in Hampton on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at the age of 65. Her siblings include Johnny Holland ('61) of VA, Betty Holland Wilhelm, and the late Russell Holland ('64). Gwen Howard Holland (Warwick HS - '61) of VA is her sister-in-law.

			HAMPTON - Carolyn Hornsby died at home on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Newport News on April 23, 1944 and resided in Hampton. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jewel Holland; her brother, Russell Holland; and a dear friend and companion, Ralph Caldwell. She is survived by her husband, James Hornsby; a brother, John J. Holland and his wife, Gwen; a sister, Betty Wilhelm and her husband, Charles; four children, Leesa Evert and her husband, Ed; Tracie Beeler and her husband, Ronnie; David Bordeaux and Russell Keith Bordeaux and his wife, Donna; and the father of her four children, Daford Bordeaux. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Jennifer, Jessica, Jamie, Ashley, Brandon, Andrew, Tabitha, Justin, Ashley Savannah, and Bo; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.



Our Mema will be missed by all who knew and loved her. The family requests that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 11835 Canon Blvd, Ste A102, Newport News, VA 23606.
