So sorry to hear about
Jerry's passing. We attended Newport News
High School together and I cheered for him and the Typhoons
through many football games. My heart goes out to his family and
close friends. Be strong in your faith and keep the memories alive!

Jerry and I were best friends
from the time we met at about five or six years old. I still remember the
day we got to know each other. He had tagged along with his big brother,
Bob,
who had walked to our house to visit my big brother, Jack. Jerry and I sat
on the ground under the bay window of my parents bedroom, like a hideaway,
and that's when we discovered we were born on the same day. We were very
close friends from that day all through
Newport News High School
days, and I always regretted that we drifted apart a few years after
graduation. We did get together a couple of years ago for lunch at Awful
Arthur's and reminisced old times. I was sorry to hear of his passing and
our thoughts are with his family. August 19, 2018

Morning Has Broken
Words: Eleanor Farjeon
Music: Traditional Gaelic
1. Morning has broken like the first morning;
Blackbird has spoken like the first bird.
Praise for the singing! Praise for the morning!
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word!
2. Sweet the rain's new fall sunlit from heaven,
Like the first dewfall on the first grass.
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden,
Sprung in completeness where His feet pass.
3. Mine is the sunlight! Mine is the morning,
Born of the one light Eden saw play!
Praise with elation; praise ev'ry morning,
God's recreation of the new day!
