He was born on January 28, 1938 in Wilmington, NC; however, he has been living in the area for most of his life. Dear Gloria and Family,
You are all in our prayers and we will always miss Courtney. We have great memories. Our love always! ~ Bobie Morgan, Rice, Virginia August 08, 2014
Gloria and the rest of the Russ family. Having talked with
Courtney a couple of times in recent months, Dorothy and I
were not surprised but we are still greatly saddened by
Courtney's passing. We enjoyed your and Courtney's company
at our class reunions, Wednesday night dinners and picnics.
I have fond memories of Courtney when we met in the 8th
grade at NNHS. He became a friend then and stayed a friend
for life. He was a good person, but more important a strong
man of God. I know you and your family are in pain from
this, but I also know that the God you and Courtney loved
and worshipped will also give you and your family peace. Yes
Courtney was a good husband and father and yes he was a
Typhoon, but more important, he was a good strong Christian.
We have no doubt that his pain is over and that he rest in
the arms of his Lord and Saviour. He will be missed. August 08, 2014 August 08, 2014
So sorry to hear of
Courtney's death. We have such fond memories of him from our
days at Grafton Baptist.

Servant of God, Well Done!
Words by Charles Wesley (28 Dec 1707 - 29 Mar 1788)
(The Methodist Hymnal, 1966, #288)
Wesley wrote this hymn in 1770 on
the occasion of the death of clergyman George White.
Elvey's tune, "Diademata", has been set to several other hymns, notably "Crown
Him with Many Thorns" and "Soldiers of Christ, Arise".
Servant of God, well done!
Thy glorious warfare’s past;
The battle’s fought, the race is won,
And thou art crowned at last.
With saints enthroned on high,
Thou dost thy Lord proclaim,
And still to God salvation cry,
Salvation to the Lamb!
O happy, happy soul!
In ecstasies of praise,
Long as eternal ages roll,
Thou seest Thy Savior’s face.
Redeemed from earth and pain,
Ah! when shall we ascend,
And all in Jesus’ presence reign
With our translated friend?
