                  Maureen Kamm Dorn

PHOENIX, ARIZONA - Margaret Maureen Dorn, 68, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 29, 2018. Maureen was born on December 30, 1949, to her parents Margaret Mary Brady Kamm and Alexander James Kamm in Hancock, Michigan.

Maureen attended Saint Joseph’s High School and Eastern Michigan University. She met Jeff Dorn in her early 20s while working together at a local Ann Arbor restaurant. They dated for three years and were married on August 11, 1973.

Like her parents before her, Maureen and her husband Jeff raised their four daughters. Maureen was an active member of the Ann Arbor, Michigan community, serving on boards, supporting the Junior League, and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Ypsilanti, Michigan. She enjoyed watching her children express themselves through music, dance, song, and sports, never missing a performance or game.

In 1993, Jeff, Maureen, and their daughters relocated to Scottsdale, Arizona, where Maureen restarted her career working in the medical billing industry. Maureen spent time traveling with her husband, laughing with her daughters, enjoying cuddles from her grandchildren, and staying active with her friends at Scottsdale Jazzercise.

Besides her husband Jeff, Maureen is survived by her daughters – Mariah Stevenson (Jon), Meghan, Mollie, and Marisa Ramsey (Scott); her grandchildren Carter, Moira, Alex, and Van. She is also survived by her sisters Kathy O’Toole (Larry) of Michigan, Kelly & Keri Kamm of Alaska, and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.

A non-denominational memorial service will be held at Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary, 6500 E Bell Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85254, on Sunday, August 5, 2018, at 1:00 pm, officiated by family and friends.

Meghan, I didn’t know your mother but I know you. She must have been a wonderful woman to have raised such a special daughter. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.

My Beloved Meghan,
You mom will continue to shine in our lives through you.
You have an indefatigable ability to share joy, make people laugh and be a source for good in the world all while looking fabulous with Vera Bradley accessories which I know you and your mom both love.
I love you!

Lead, Kindly Light

Lyrics by John Henry Newman, 1833
Music by John B. Dykes, 1865

Lead, kindly Light, amid th’encircling gloom,
Lead Thou me on!
The night is dark, and I am far from home;
Lead Thou me on!
Keep Thou my feet; I do not ask to see
The distant scene; one step enough for me.

I was not ever thus, nor prayed that Thou
Shouldst lead me on;
I loved to choose and see my path; but now
Lead Thou me on!
I loved the garish day, and, spite of fears,
Pride ruled my will. Remember not past years!

So long Thy power hath blessed me, sure it will,
Will lead me on.
O’er moor and fen, o’er crag and torrent, till
The night is gone,
And with the morn those angel faces smile,
Which I have loved long since, and lost awhile!

Meantime, along the narrow rugged path,
Thyself hast trod,
Lead, Savior, lead me home in childlike faith,
Home to my God.
To rest forever after earthly strife
In the calm light of everlasting life.
