Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
Y'all know I'm
a big sucker for dreamy old songs such as this .
BONUS - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QT4LJxBBaF0 - One Summer Night - The Danleers, 1958
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Danleers:
The Danleers was an
American
doo-wop
group in the 1950s. They were a
quintet hailing from
Brooklyn,
New York. Jimmy Weston was the lead
singer, and the group was named after their
manager, Danny Webb, who
wrote their most famous
number,
"One Summer Night". The track was originally released on AMP-3 2115,
as being by The Dandleers... Their one big hit single (and their debut single), "One Summer Night" (b/w "Wheelin and A-Dealin'"), reached #4 on the Billboard Black Singles chart, and #7 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1958.[1] |

Norfolk's
Granby Theater in foreclosure, to be sold |
||
![]() |
The Virginian-Pilot © NORFOLK The Granby Theater property in downtown Norfolk has gone into foreclosure and is scheduled to be sold at an auction next week, according to a notice in The Virginian-Pilot. But the owner of the buildings at 421, 423 and 425 Granby St. said Monday he expects to continue discussions with the lender and reach a resolution before the sale, scheduled for 10 a.m. Aug 7. "We don't plan on having an auction that Wednesday," said Bobby Wright, principal investor in 421 Granby LLC. He said he is trying to transfer the loan from Southern Bank and Trust Co., which took over the holdings of Bank of the Commonwealth when it failed in late 2011 and has pursued delinquent debtors for the past year to recoup losses. |
|
Granby Theater is doing fine financially, Wright said, though he declined to discuss the status of his loan payments. He just invested in resanding the wood floors and making other improvements in the building, he said. "We're clearly not banking on going anywhere," he said. "We're not going down the tubes." |

One summer night, we fell in love
one summer night, I held you tight
you and I, under the moon of love, moon of love
One summer night, I kissed your lips
one summer night, I held you close
you and I, under the moon of love
You kissed me oh, so tenderly
and I knew this was love
and I as held you, oh so close
I knew no one could ever take your place, ohhhh
One summer night, we fell in love
one summer night, I held you tight
you and I, under the moon of love, moon of love
