Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
We've never
celebrated Christmas in July here before!

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_Christmas_(song):
"Berlin wrote the song in early 1940 while sitting poolside at the Arizona Biltmore Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona. The original verse pokes fun at a well-off Los Angeleno who, amid orange and palm trees, longs for traditional Christmas "up north." Berlin later dropped the verse but kept the now-famous chorus."

From Geneva
Cole Lauterbach ('65) of NC - 07/26/09 - "Information on 1965 reunion":
My name is Geneva Lauterbach (Cole). I
would like to be notified when the next reunion for the Class of 65 will be
held.
My address is ___________________, Fayetteville, NC 283__.
I got an invitation one time way back for the 10th reunion from someone, but
after that, nothing. I didn't have any idea of how to get in touch with anyone
or where to look to get any information. I am excited about seeing everyone and
reminiscing "the good years".
I would like to see all my friends ... and of course all the others.
Please respond via e-mail or "snail mail" and let me know when to plan. I can't
believe it has been almost 45 years. I feel like it was just a few years ago I
walked and ran the halls of Newport News High.
Well, Geneva,
I can scarcely believe that I lived in Fayetteville seven whole years - not far
from you at all - and didn't know you were there. We only moved away in
January!
ARGHHH!!!!
I'm sending your note on to
Dave and
Pam Smith
Arnold in Williamsburg. They know more about the Reunion Committee and its
plans than I do back out here in the St. Louis area, and will be delighted to
hear from you, I'm sure!

Unfortunately, I'm having computer woes
at the moment, and cannot even access the site myself..... You may be one of
those who will have no trouble seeing the site... Hopefully, that is the
case.
Thanks, Geneva!

From Norris Perry (Warwick HS - '59) of VA - 07/26/09 - "Attack Site":
Carol,
My computer says that your site is compromised.
Thanks, Norris!
Our site is fine! Unfortunately, about five other sites hosted by our server are
NOT fine, and ours is being blocked as well until they get their acts together.
Keep checking back; it was up and running for a few brief hours on Saturday
night!

From Jean Baker Howell ('69) of VA - 07/26/07 - "Class of 69 attending":
Please add to our list:
Randall Chalkley of VA
Sue Hargardon of VA
Ronnie Gray of VA
Gerry Mingee of VA
John Whitcomb of TX
Thanks, Jean!
I've added their names to your

Thanks
Billy Feather?!? I haven't seen him in - well, in 45 years!
Thank you, David!
I've added "CONFIRMED" by their

FINALLY:
From ArcaMax Jokes.com - 07/26/09:
The Camel Joke
There's a guy walking along a road to town with his camel. Along
the way, another guy stops and asks if he needs a ride to town. The guy says,
"Yeah," and hops in.
The driver asks "What about your camel?"
The first guy replies, "Oh, he's okay... he knows his way to town."
So the driver starts driving, gets up to about 45 MPH, looks in his rearview
mirror and sees the camel right behind him. He says to the guy, "Hey, buddy, ya
know your camel is behind us?
The guy replies, "Yeah, it's okay, he knows his way to town. Speed up a
little."
The driver speeds up to about 55 MPH, he's driving along, and looks behind him
and again sees the camel. He says to the guy, "Your camel is still there."
The guy replies, "Really, it's okay, he knows his way to town. Speed up a
little."
So the driver speeds up to 65 MPH. He drives for a bit, looks behind him, then
looks at the guy and says, "Hey, buddy, your camel, he's looking pretty rough."
The guy replies, "Oh yeah? What's he doing?"
The driver says, "Well, his ears are folded back and his tongue is hanging
out."
The guy replies, "His tongue is hanging out? Which side?"
The driver says, "The left side."
The guy replies, "You'd better hold your course... he's fixin' to pass ya!"

Words and Music by
Irving Berlin, 1940
The sun is shining
The grass is green
The orange and palm trees sway.
I've never seen such a day
In Beverly Hills, LA.
But it's December the 24th
And I am longing to be up North.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know.
Where the treetops glisten,
And children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write.
May your days be merry and bright.
And may all your Christmases be white.
