   We heard back from our daughter-in-law,   Kim (Woods Harty - Hillsboro HS, IL / Richard Milburn Academy, FL - '03 - of IL), about our almost ten-month-old granddaughter, Kaiya.

   They spent a total of over seven hours in two different hospital emergency rooms (okay, technically, one was more of an urgent care unit) waiting to be seen.  The second one finally ran a strep throat test.  Upon finding it to be negative, they told her her daughter was sick.  Well, DUH! The good news is that her fever broke (for a while, anyway) at about the same time your prayers began.  On Sunday Kaiya's appetite returned, and she rested much more comfortably.  Kim was planning to take her to Springfield today where hopefully she will find better answers.

  Thanks so much for your prayers; they were very much appreciated by us all!

   I saw your mail just as we were running out the door to help our oldest grandson celebrate a big milestone in his life.      Andrew Harty (Collinsville HS, IL - '10) of IL will turn 19 in two months, and is submitting his paper work to serve as a full-time LDS missionary.  We went to see his father,          my #1 Son, Lewis Harty (Hillsboro HS, IL - '89) of IL, confer the Melchizedek Priesthood upon him and ordain him to the office of an Elder.

  I was spluttering over your Nauvoo reference to the extent that I didn't notice your note had been tied up somewhere in cyber-space for a whole week..... Then when we got home, it had disappeared altogether! (?!?)  At great length I found it, and have you safely on my mailing list once more:

     From Me ('65) of IL - 07/26/10 - "An Old Image":

		During World War II, this image was taken of my first cousin   Clarke's (Booth - Wakefield HS - '57 - of FL) Fifth Birthday Party, and sent overseas to       my daddy, the late Robert Buckley (John Marshall HS - '25).  The smiling, happy, chubby children was were in such contrast to the poor, sad starving children of Europe, that the men passed the image around and around the camp. So touched were these strong soldiers by the sight that often tears flowed freely.  More copies were requested and sent.  They, too, soon became frayed with wear.    I thought you'd like to see the picture which made such an impact on these brave soldiers of Virginia's 29th Division.
