LIFE is a mosaic of pleasure and pain - grief is an interval between two
moments of joy. Peace is the interlude between two wars.

Dear
Friends and Schoolmates,
Today's
Newsletter is prompted by - well, you'll figure it out.
I was unable to locate a midi file for it, but considering the frustration the midis have caused me this week, perhaps that's just as well.

From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alanis_Morissette:
Alanis Nadine Morissette (born June 1, 1974) is a Canadian-American singer-songwriter, record producer and actress. She has won 16 Juno Awards and seven Grammy Awards. Morissette began her career in Canada, and as a teenager recorded two dance-pop albums, Alanis and Now Is the Time, under MCA Records Canada... In February 2005, Morissette became a naturalized citizen of the United States while maintaining her Canadian citizenship.[4]
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/So-Called_Chaos:
So-Called Chaos is the sixth studio album (fourth released internationally) by Canadian singer-songwriter Alanis Morissette, released in May 2004 (see 2004 in music).
It had been two years since Morissette released her fifth studio album, Under Rug Swept. In that time she had met her fiancé Ryan Reynolds, so her cheery disposition made its presence felt in many of the songs she wrote for So-Called Chaos. The album found her in a more contented and relaxed state than ever, and her songs were brighter and happier than her more volatile works like "You Oughta Know" and "Uninvited". One reporter asked if the song "This Grudge" was based on the same person as "You Oughta Know", and Morissette replied, "Different person, same era."[2]
REUNION ALERTS:
From Dave Arnold
('65) of VA - 05/11/10 - "Class of 1965's 45-Year Reunion":
The NNHS Class of 1965 will hold its 45-Year Reunion on Friday and Saturday, October 15 and 16, 2010 - which is OPEN to all classes!
< Friday evening we will meet at R.J.'s Restaurant and Sports Bar. The only cost will be what you choose to eat and drink. The company will be priceless.
Saturday
will be spent at Newport News Park. We've reserved a group shelter that can seat
150 people with sufficient cover to take care of any weather concerns. If you
made it to the 55th Birthday Party you'll recall it was held at the Park in one
of the smaller shelters. The facility we're using this time is a new addition
and will give us lots of flexibility to meet and reminisce. The cost of this
event is $15.00 per person through August 31, 2010. After that date the cost
will be $20.00 per person. The charge for Saturday will cover your food and
beverages.

I decided to actually work on the site itself and do some long overdue scanning. As a result, these pages are either entirely new or newly fleshed-out with images:

Why, you may well wonder, did I
concentrate solely on the Class of 1967?? That's because
David Whitley ('67) of VA
graciously loaned me his 1967 Anchor back in the Fall of 2006 and it's
high time to return it to him!
Thanks again,
Gorgeous!
NOTE: I had planned to finish several more sections, but this is taking even longer (and making me even nutzier!) than I had anticipated, so I'll be working on this for the next few days.
From My Niece, Shari, of VA - 07/20/10 - "BEES":

Dear Carol, I'm sorry I have taken so long to respond........turtles would run circles around me! Thanks so much for adding those family members. As for Peggy and Bobby Manning (sister and brother).....you just needed to go back a little farther........since that's all you have to do. Ha! Ha! Anyway, Peggy graduated in June 1950 and Bobby finished in February of '45 or '46, I think. He stayed on 'til June to help teach others how to play the French horn. He was also old enough to be in the category of attending school for 11 years, instead of 12. Peggy and I were together yesterday for the funeral of ![]() ![]() ![]()
Also......... my son and his
family are moving back home from
Massachusetts!!!!!!!! I am so happy
over that! Hi Carol, ![]() ![]() Take care, Fran Thank you so much for sharing all this with us, Fran! ![]() I've updated both memorial editions: |

Knees of My Bees
Written and Recorded by
Alanis Morissette
(b. 01 June 1974), 2004
We share a culture same vernacular
Love of physical humor and time spent alone
You with your penchant for spontaneous advents
For sticky and raspy, unearthed and then gone
You are a gift renaissance with a wink
With tendencies for conversations that raise bars
You are a sage who is fueled by compassion
Comes to nooks and crannies as balm for all scars
You make the knees of my bees weak, tremble and buckle
You make the knees of my bees weak
You are a spirit that knows of no limit
That knows of no ceiling who baulks at dead-ends
You are a wordsmith who cares for his brothers
Not seduced by illusion or fair-weather friends
You make the knees of my bees weak, tremble and buckle
You make the knees of my bees weak
You are a vision who lives by the signals of
Stomach and intuition as your guide
You are a sliver of god on a platter
Who walks what he talks and who cops when he's lied
You make the knees of my bees weak, tremble and buckle
You make the knees of my bees weak
You make the knees of my bees weak, tremble and buckle
You make the knees of my bees weak
You make the knees of my bees weak, tremble and buckle
You make the knees of my bees weak
