07/19/16 - NNHS Newsletter - Summer Song

“I walk without flinching through the burning cathedral of the
summer. My bank of wild grass is majestic and full of music.
It is a fire that solitude presses against my lips.”

- Violette Leduc, La Folie en tête (Mad in Pursuit)
(07 Apr 1907 - 28 May 1972)

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

Here in Fayetteville, we've been fortunate that the weather has not been frightfully hot this year, but all that will be coming to a screeching halt this weekend. I've never been much of a fan of summer and the heat under normal conditions - unless I can bask in the glory of air conditioning, that is. In fact, I am inordinately fond of staying inside and enjoying The Great Indoors and observing the scenery through the window, but then, you've always known I am nothing if not weird.
