From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Believe_%281953_song%29:
"I Believe" is the name of a
popular
song
written by
Ervin Drake,
Irvin Graham,
Jimmy Shirl and
Al Stillman in
1953. I Believe was commissioned and introduced by Jane Froman on her television show, and became the first hit song ever introduced on TV. Froman, troubled by the uprising of the Korean conflict in 1952 so soon after World War II, asked Drake, Graham, Shirl and Stillman to compose a song that would offer hope and faith to the populace. In addition to Froman, "I Believe" has been recorded by many others, and has become both a popular and religious standard. Frankie Laine had the big hit version of the song, which still holds the record for the most weeks spent at number one in the UK Singles Chart.[1] However, that total of 18 weeks was not consecutive, as the hit had three separate periods at number one in the UK.[1] For comparison the longest consecutive period at number one in the UK was 16 weeks by Bryan Adams with "(Everything I Do) I Do It for You" (1991), whilst Wet Wet Wet spent 15 consecutive weeks there in 1994 with "Love Is All Around".[2] During Laine's single's stay at number one, Queen Elizabeth II was crowned, Mount Everest was climbed and the England cricket team won back The Ashes after 19 years.[1] |

FINALLY: |
From www.ajokeaday.com - 07/04/13:
An example
of the new America: A brother and sister were driving to a
couple stores and the conversation of buying things they
needed came up.
As they were talking, the sister mentioned that she needed to get a new car. The brother said, “Well, you have a college degree now, so you can go get the job that pays you more." The sister, who made between 10 and 11 dollars an hour said, “I already got the job that my college degree will get me. Now what?”

I believe, for every drop of rain that falls,
A flower grows.
I believe that somewhere in the darkest night,
A candle glows.
I believe for everyone who goes astray,
Someone will come, to show the way,
I believe, I believe.
I believe, above the storm the smallest prayer,
Will still be heard.
I believe, that someone in the great somewhere,
Hears every word.
Every time I hear a newborn baby cry,
Or touch a leaf, or see the sky,
Then I know why, I believe!
