Jay & the Techniques was an inter-racial pop group, which was formed in Allentown, Pennsylvania during the mid 1960s. A group whose sound and songs were more pop than soul, Jay & the Techniques earned some points for the playful, joyous "Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie," which was their lone Top 10 R&B and pop hit in 1967 on Smash.[1]

The band was best known for its Top 10 debut single, "Apples, Peaches, Pumpkin Pie", which was released in 1967 and reached #6 in the Billboard Hot 100 chart.[2] The track was arranged by Joe Renzetti, and written by Maurice Irby, Jr. It sold over one million copies, and was awarded a gold disc.[3] Although this song served as the band's primary hit, the group also captured various chart positions with "Keep the Ball Rolling" (#14) and "Strawberry Shortcake". "Keep the Ball Rolling" also notched up sales in excess of a million copies, to secure a second gold disc for this group.[3] However, its position on the 1960s pop charts declined after "Baby Make Your Own Sweet Music" was released. Jay & the Techniques made their final effort with its R&B hit, "Number Onderful", but after that, the group disbanded.

She is a few weeks older than when the picture was taken, but still little at two-and-a-half lbs.

It was a big day in the Harty Household today :) Brent was promoted at work! I got to go and, um, I don't know what it's called. hehe. I took off the old rank, and put on the new rank. It was pretty cool, actually!

The ceremony started at 8:45 am. They did flags, and National Anthem, then promoted the officers, then the enlisted, then passed out awards. The whole thing took only about 45 minutes. It was a nice ceremony. And only 2 guys passed out in formation. hehehe. Poor guys. They always forget to NOT lock their knees when they stand :)

Carol, Thank you. I sent you a copy. I sponsor this group and have just adopted one of the little ones from this rescue, so they are very dear to my heart. King should be in surgery this morning as we speak. I put up a guarantee to cover the cost (of surgery) for what would not be covered by donations so that he could have the surgery ASAP as they would not do anything until the costs had been guaranteed. That is sickening to me, but that is the way it is. Please let me know if you cannot open or do not get the link I sent.

By the way, you were very close. The min pin rescue is the one that has taken over and the reason that they need donations so badly is they just took in 8 min pins last weekend. They are  strapped for cash/ broke!!! I offered to help.
