06/23/16 - NNHS Newsletter - (Since You've) Gone

“There is a sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness,
but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues.
They are messengers of overwhelming grief...and unspeakable love.”

- Washington Irving
(03 Apr 1783 - 28 Nov 1859)

From Terry Seay ('67) of TN - 06/22/16 - "YARD PARTY - JULY 30-31...PLEASE CONFIRM":

We have been pretty quiet the last few months but that does not mean we have not been very, very busy getting ready for our YARD PARTY! ON JULY 30-31...

LOOK FOR MORE DETAILS IN THE COMING WEEKS, BUT MARK YOUR CALENDAR NOW!!!
.
The new house will not be ready for the Yard Party...but we will be!

The new farm fence has been installed and the YARD is starting to look like a great place for a party.

The over sized patio was poured yesterday and will be used to help stage the event. We have a VIP tent coming...and well...some of my favorite people performing.

This is one event where all of the performers get the money!

We love songwriters!

It will be a bring a chair / blanket event. Bring a cooler and some food! Picnic style! Food trucks are hopefully in the works!

CHUY'S MEXICAN GRILL WILL BE ONSITE!

We have 1 1/2 acres down what looks like a two lane rural country road in the middle of Franklin...to a dead end. Easy to get to...lots of parking space and a beautiful tree line lot!
The new music room will be almost 900 square feet with twin BOSE@ towers and a McKenzie Mixing Board. 18 foot ceilings! A whole new look to our songwriter events. Our first event is planned for early September with about 8-9 events planned for the balance of 2016.
Address: 4299 Warren Road
Franklin, TN 37067

From My Husband, Paul Harty (Bardolph HS, IL - '61) of NC - 06/22/16 - "The Wedding":

At a wedding ceremony, the pastor asked if anyone had anything to say concerning the union of the bride and groom. It was their time to stand up and talk, or forever hold their peace.

The moment of utter silence was broken by a beautiful young woman carrying a child.

She started slowly walking toward the front.

Everything quickly turned to chaos.

The bride slapped the groom.

The groom's mother fainted.

The groomsmen started giving each other looks and wondering how best to help save the situation.

The pastor asked the woman, "Can you tell us why you came forward? What do you have to say?"

The woman replied, "We can't hear in the back."

     Thanks, Haul Party!

(Since You've) Gone

Recorded by Ferlin Husky, 1957
(b. 03 Dec 1925)

Since you've gone, the moon, the sun, the stars in the sky know the reason why I cry
Love divine once was mine; now you've gone
Since you've gone, my heart, my lips, my tear dimmed eyes, a lonely soul within me cries
I acted smart, broke your heart, now you've gone
Oh, what I'd give for the lifetime I've wasted
The love that I've tasted; I was wrong; now you've gone

Oh what I'd give for the lifetime...
