HEALTH UPDATE:

From My Niece, Shari, of VA - 06/22/08:

Carol,

My tooth is gone but more jaw bone is needed removing ASAP. It is infected and my face very swollen and I feel very weak. I have been to a dentist, Emergicare 3 different times, an oral surgeon 3 times. One I went for consult, tooth removal, then jaw bone biopsy. Three pieces of bone were removed. I have now been to 2 ER and am told the same thing. Get that removed quickly. On Tuesday if I am still kicking I am going to my former dentist for more infectious bone removal and possibly a bone graft. I feel very, very badly. If it were not for my children I would rather just die at this point, no joking.

YOWZERONI-RINI-ROONI!!! I just don't understand why they cannot seem to finish "fixing" that, Shari! I certainly hope that tomorrow you'll at last get the treatment you need!

From Gloria Woolard Price (Hampton HS - '65) of FL - 06/22/08 - "Johnny Cash":

For all the Johnny Cash fans.....or not.....this kid is still good.......wonder why he's not on America's Got Talent??   He's 15 and sounds just like Johnny Cash.......close your eyes and listen!

Send in the Clowns

- Words and Music by Stephen Sondheim, A Little Night Music, 1973
(b. 22 Mar 1930)

(Judy Collins, 1975)
(b. 1 May 1939)

Isn't it rich, are we a pair?
Me here at last on the ground,
You in mid-air.
Send in the clowns.

Isn't it bliss, don't you approve?
One who keeps tearing around
One who can't move
Where are the clowns?
Send in the clowns.

Just when I'd stopped opening doors,
Finally knowing the one that I wanted was yours.
Making my entrance again with my usual flair,
Sure of my lines;
No one is there.

Don't you love farce?
My fault I fear,
I thought that you'd want what I want,
Sorry my dear
But where are the clowns
Send in the clowns
Don't bother, they're here.

Isn't it rich, isn't it queer
Losing my timing this late in my career
But where are the clowns
there ought to be clowns
Well, maybe next year.

Of course we all remember Judy Collins' rendition of "Send In The Clowns."
It is her voice that you hear in your head when the song title is mentioned.

However, the song was part of "A Little Night Music", music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.
