"She Thinks I Still Care" is a song written by Dickie Lee which became the third C&W #1 hit for George Jones, spending six weeks at #1 in the spring/summer of 1962. The B-side: "Sometimes You Just Can't Win", reached #17 C&W.^[1]

Connie Francis recorded the song as "He Thinks I Still Care" in a June 18, 1962 session at Columbia Recording Studio in Nashville TN which was produced by Danny Davis & Jim Vienneau.[1] The track had a September 1962 single release as the B-side to "I Was Such A Fool (To Fall In Love With You)" but garnered enough attention to reach #57 on the Billboard Hot 100 (#51 on the Cash Box Pop 100).

Anne Murray remade "He Thinks I Still Care" for her 1973 Danny's Song album and in 1974 this track was issued as the B-side to Murray's Top Ten Pop hit "You Won't See Me"; shopped to C&W radio, "He Thinks I Still Care" became Murray's first C&W #1.^[2]

Many of those pictures I scanned myself - and at least six of the images were captured by our own Wizard of Wonderment,    Dave Spriggs ('64) of VA for use on Our Old Stomping Grounds! There's even a shot I myself took back in 1963 while I was still in high school!

.....OK, back to reality. hehehe.     Brent (Harty - Hillsboro HS, IL - '90 - of TX) kissed me and said Happy Anniversary before he left for PT this morning. I vaguely remember it - hehehe. I don't know what time he wakes up, but I don't even hear his alarm anymore :)

I was up a little before 8am, but was slow to get out of bed......

(After a full day of shopping and making dinner) Brent was still not home from work yet. But I was surprisingly patient. I wasn't getting antsy or anything :) That's uncommon for me - hehehe.....

Brent finally got home a little after 8pm. I'd forgotten that he had a softball game. Oops, that's where he'd been - ha! He washed his car real fast, took a shower, and we were ready for our date. We had    Jake take some pics of us. Aren't we cute!

This two-letter word in English has more meanings than any other two-letter word, and that word is 'UP.' It is listed in the
dictionary as an [adv], [prep], [adj], [n] or [v].

It's easy to understand UP, meaning toward the sky or at the top of the list, but when we awaken in the morning, why do we wake UP?

At a meeting, why does a topic come UP? Why do we speak UP, and why are the officers UP for election and why is it UP to the secretary to write UP a report? We call UP our friends, brighten UP a room, polish UP the silver, warm UP the leftovers and clean UP the kitchen. We lock UP the house and fix UP the old car.

At other times this little word has real special meaning. People stir UP trouble, line UP for tickets, work UP an appetite, and think UP excuses.

To be dressed is one thing but to be dressed UP is special. And this UP is confusing: A drain must be opened UP because it is stopped UP.

We open UP a store in the morning but we close it UP at night. We seem to be pretty mixed UP about UP !

To be knowledgeable about the proper uses of UP, look UP the word UP in the dictionary.. In a desk-sized dictionary, it takes UP almost 1/4 of the page and can add UP to about thirty definitions

If you are UP to it, you might try building UP a list of the many ways UP is used. It will take UP a lot of your time, but if you don't give UP, you may
wind UP with a hundred or more.

When it threatens to rain, we say it is clouding UP . When the sun comes out
we say it is clearing UP. When it rains, it soaks UP the earth. When it does not rain for awhile, things dry UP.

One could go on & on, but I'll wrap it UP, for now ........my time is UP !

Our Yearly Dementia Test

It's that time of year for us to take our annual senior citizen test. Exercise of the brain is as important as exercise of the muscles. As we grow older, it's important to keep mentally alert. If you don't use it, you lose it!

Below is a very private way to gauge how your memory compares to the last test. Some may think it is too easy but the ones with memory problems may have difficulty. Take the test presented here to determine if you're losing it or not.

The spaces below are so you don't see the answers until you've made your answer.

OK, relax, clear your mind and begin.

1. What do you put in a toaster?

Answer: 'bread.' If you said 'toast' give up now and do something else..
Try not to hurt yourself.

If you said, bread, go to Question 2.

2. Say 'silk' five times. Now spell 'silk.' What do cows drink?

Answer: Cows drink water. If you said 'milk,' don't attempt the next question. Your brain is over-stressed and may even overheat. Content yourself with reading a more appropriate literature such as Auto World.

However, if you said 'water', proceed to question 3.

3. If a red house is made from red bricks and a blue house is made from blue bricks and a pink house is made from pink bricks and a black house is made from black bricks, what is a green house made from?

Answer: Greenhouses are made from glass. If you said 'green bricks,' why are you still reading these???
If you said 'glass,' go on to Question 4.

4. Without using a calculator - You are driving a bus from London to

Milford Haven in Wales . In London , 17 people get on the bus. In Reading , 6 people get off the bus and 9 people get on. In Swindon , 2 people get off and 4 get on. Birthday Flowers

A fellow was very much in love with a beautiful girl. One day she told him that the next day was her birthday. He told her he would send her a bouquet of roses... one for each year of her life.

That evening he called the local florist and ordered twenty-one roses with instructions that they be delivered first thing the next morning.

As the florist was preparing the order, he decided that since the young man was such a good customer, he would put an extra dozen roses in the bouquet.

The fellow never did find out what made the young girl so angry with him.
