“While we are free to choose our actions, we are not free
to choose the consequences of our actions.”

- Stephen R. Covey

Dear Friends and Schoolmates,

I don't think we've used a good ol' country song lately; on the other hand, I could be wrong.....

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/On_the_Other_Hand:

"On the Other Hand" is a country music song written by Paul Overstreet and Don Schlitz. First recorded by Keith Whitley on his 1985 album L.A. to Miami, it was later released by Randy Travis as the lead-off single to his album Storms of Life, and it peaked at #67 in the United States. However, it was re-released in April 1986 after the song "1982" peaked, and the re-release was his first number-one hit in both the United States and Canada.[1]

PRAYER REQUEST:

  From Elizabeth Tedder Nunnally ('65 / '68) of VA - 06/14/16:

Just wanted everyone to know that I will be at Mary Immaculate Hospital most of the day tomorrow to have yet another blood transfusion -- 2 units, again. I knew my blood was low (had no idea it was as low as it is) because I was so so tired. Will let everyone know how I feel tomorrow night. Please remember me in your prayers.

   YIKES! Certainly, Elizabeth!

On the Other Hand

Written by Paul Overstreet (b. 17 Mar 1955) and Don Schlitz (b. 29 Aug 1952)

Recorded by Randy Travis (b. 04 May 1959), 1985

On one hand I count the reasons, I could stay with you
And hold you close to me, all night long.
So many lover's games, I’d love to play with you
On that hand there’s no reason, why it's wrong

But on the other hand, there's a golden band
To remind me of someone who would not understand
On one hand I could stay and be your lovin’ man
But the reason I must go is on the other hand

In your arms I feel the passion, I thought had died
When I looked into your eyes, I found myself
When I first kissed your lips, I felt so alive
I've got to hand it to you girl, you're something else
