Jeannette, so sorry to hear about Dave. He fought hard for his life and he will be sadly missed. I enjoyed waiting on both of you at the Legion and talking to him and Ronnie. He was so sweet and full of life. I know what you are going through so if you ever need to talk I'm here..

  Jeanette, we were so sorry to heard of the death of your husband. Though we did not know him well, we enjoyed swapping stories of camping at lake Gaston. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Nearer, My God, to Thee

Words by Sarah Flower Adams (22 Feb 1805 - 14 Aug 1848), based loosely on Genesis 28:11–19,[1], 1841
Music (Bethany) by
Lowell Mason (08 Jan 1792 – 11 Aug 1872), 1856

Nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
E'en though it be a cross that raiseth me,
still all my song shall be,
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

Though like the wanderer, the sun gone down,
darkness be over me, my rest a stone;
yet in my dreams I'd be
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

There let the way appear, steps unto heaven;
all that thou sendest me, in mercy given;
angels to beckon me
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

Then, with my waking thoughts bright with thy praise,
out of my stony griefs Bethel I'll raise;
so by my woes to be
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!

Or if, on joyful wing cleaving the sky,
sun, moon, and stars forgot, upward I fly,
still all my song shall be,
nearer, my God, to thee;
nearer, my God, to thee, nearer to thee!
