Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
Ahh - classic
Led Zeppelin!
BONUS - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w9TGj2jrJk8 - Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stairway_to_Heaven:
"Stairway to Heaven" is a song by the
British
rock band
Led Zeppelin, released in late 1971. It was composed by guitarist
Jimmy Page and vocalist
Robert Plant for the band's untitled fourth studio album (usually
referred to as
Led Zeppelin IV). The song, running eight minutes and two
seconds, is composed of several sections, which increase in tempo and
volume as the song progresses. The song begins as a slow acoustic-based
folk
song accompanied by recorders before electric instrumentation is
introduced. The final section is a high-tempo
hard
rock section highlighted by an intricate guitar solo by Page. The song, often considered one of the greatest rock songs of all-time,[2][3][4] was voted #3 in 2000 by VH1 on its list of the 100 Greatest Rock Songs,[5] and was placed at number 31 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. It was the most requested song on FM radio stations in the United States in the 1970s, despite never having been officially released as a single there.[6] In November 2007, through download sales promoting Led Zeppelin's Mothership release, "Stairway to Heaven" hit #37 on the UK Singles Chart...[7] |

From My Friend, Susan, of NC -
05/27/15:“Courage
becomes a living and an attractive virtue when it is regarded not only
as a willingness to die manfully, but also as a determination to live
decently. A moral coward is one who is afraid to do what he thinks is
right because others will disapprove or laugh. Remember that all men
have their fears, but those who face their fears with dignity have
courage as well.”

From John Patterson
('59) of TN - 05/27/16 - "My Terrible Accident":
Just wanted to let you know that
I had a terrible accident yesterday, but I am doing better now. I decided to go horseback riding which I haven't done in years. Well, I got on the horse and started out slow, and then we went a little faster and then we were going as fast as the horse could do. All of a sudden I fell off and caught my foot in the stirrup and the horse was dragging me around in a circle. It wouldn't stop, just going around and around in a circle. If it weren't for a quick thinking man (I owe my life to) I would probably not have made it. Thank goodness the store manager at Walmart came out and unplugged the machine.

There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is
gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven.
When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for.
Ooh, ooh, and she's buying a stairway to heaven.
There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure
'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings.
In a tree by the brook, there's a songbird who sings,
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven.
Ooh, it makes me wonder,
Ooh, it makes me wonder.
