From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hello_Darlin%27_%28song%29:
"Hello Darlin'" is an American country music song written and recorded by Conway Twitty.
Originally released in 1970, the song became Twitty's fourth No. 1 song on the Billboard magazine Hot Country Singles chart that summer, and soon became one of his signature songs...
While recording the song in 1969, Twitty sang the opening lines, but for some reason it didn't work. Record producer Owen Bradley suggested speaking the lines: "Hello darlin', nice to see you." The result was a hook that made the song instantly recognizable to fans.[1]
"Hello Darlin'" is about a man who runs into an old flame and, after acknowledging she's "just as lovely as you used to be," tries to put up his bravado by saying he's getting along fine, "except I can't sleep, and I cry all night 'til dawn." He then admits his deep sorrow for his mistakes that led to the breakup of their relationship, then - after sharing an embrace "just for old time's sake" - bids her well. Before the two part, he says that if she would forgive him, he'll be waiting for her.
The song spent four weeks atop the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart, and was named the No. 1 song of 1970. Aside from being Twitty's standard concert opener, the song became a country standard.

more":

Guaranteed to Roll Your Eyes --------------* My ten-year-old, under the tutelage of her grandmother, was becoming quite knowledgeable about the Bible. Then one day she floored her grandmother by asking, "Which Virgin was the mother of Jesus: the Virgin Mary or the King James Virgin?" ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Wisdom Tip Weight Control :: #1757 By Joey from USA. The Only Diet That Really Works Other than keeping your mouth shut, this diet really works; at least it has worked for me. Before I found out that I was possibly a diabetic, I went to the library to check out how a diabetic ate. One of the secrets is to eat every 2 hrs. whether you are hungry or not. Something small. You get in the habit of doing this and in no time your stomach shrinks and you can't eat as much. therefore you lose weight. Cut down on your carbs and sugar. Also, walk for exercise at a fast pace; eat asparagus, string beans and chicken breast seasoned with Mrs. Dash and Pam. I have lost 50 lbs. and feel great. Fruit is good for you but don’t eat a lot of it because it is high in natural sugar. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Quote Being Grateful for What You Have in The Present Use your eyes as if tomorrow you would be struck blind: Hear the music of voices, the song of a bird, as if you would be struck deaf. Touch each object as if tomorrow your sense of touch would fail-smell perfume of flowers, taste with relish each morsel as if tomorrow you could never smell or taste again. - Helen Keller ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: RANDOM TIDBITS The Bayer Aspirin Company trademarked the brand name Heroin in 1898. Bowing to pressure from anti-smoking groups, Hasbro took away Mr. Potato Head's pipe in 1987. Prior to 1953 the slogan of L&M cigarettes was "just what the doctor ordered." Denny's restaurants used to be known as Danny's restaurants. The original name for the Bank of America: the Bank of Italy. At one time, tulip bulbs were traded on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: From Bizarre News * Woman in coma gives birth to healthy baby boy * SAN FRANCISCO (UPI) - A California woman gave birth to a healthy five-pound, nine-ounce baby boy on Thursday, even though she wasn't able to welcome him into the world herself. Melissa Carleton has been in a coma for than 10 weeks, but she was still able to bring West Nathaniel Lande into the world via cesarean section at a San Francisco hospital. The 39-year-old has been in a semi-comatose state since she underwent emergency surgery to remove a large brain tumor. "I was just so happy to have a healthy baby, healthy son," Brian Lande, Carleton's husband, told NBC News. "It's a feeling of immense relief, joy and immense sorrow for Melissa not able to be awake for it." Now that the baby has been delivered, Carleton will be transferred to a brain rehab clinic and begin undergoing intense therapy in an effort to wake her. Carleton's future is uncertain, but Lande is hopeful that she will recover and be able to meet West. "I want her to know she did an amazing job, and she loved the baby hard for two months," he said. "I'm so grateful to her and I miss her. We can now work on getting her to wake up and get back to us and be a mom." ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Wise Jogging Advice I usually jog one of two routes around the neighborhood. It is always the same paths, same distances, same hills, and the same streets. As I was jogging, God spoke into my spirit. Although it was while I was jogging, I knew it applied to other areas of life. God spoke, "Don't go down any dead ends." There are a lot of streets that are dead ends in the neighborhood. The fancy name is cul-de-sac but the truth is, they are dead ends. Until I took notice, I did not realize how many streets I jogged that were dead ends. When I avoided the dead ends, I found an entirely new and more exciting route to run. I did not have to travel over the same paths more than once. So many things in life are dead ends. You must have first the wisdom to recognize dead ends, then the sense not to go down them. "Don't go down any dead ends." It wasn't about jogging, it was about life. ~A MountainWings Original~

Shari!
