From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hello_Darlin%27_%28song%29:
"Hello Darlin'" is an American country music song written and recorded by Conway Twitty.
Originally released in 1970, the song became Twitty's fourth No. 1 song on the Billboard magazine Hot Country Singles chart that summer, and soon became one of his signature songs...
While recording the song in 1969, Twitty sang the opening lines, but for some reason it didn't work. Record producer Owen Bradley suggested speaking the lines: "Hello darlin', nice to see you." The result was a hook that made the song instantly recognizable to fans.[1]
"Hello Darlin'" is about a man who runs into an old flame and, after acknowledging she's "just as lovely as you used to be," tries to put up his bravado by saying he's getting along fine, "except I can't sleep, and I cry all night 'til dawn." He then admits his deep sorrow for his mistakes that led to the breakup of their relationship, then - after sharing an embrace "just for old time's sake" - bids her well. Before the two part, he says that if she would forgive him, he'll be waiting for her.
The song spent four weeks atop the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart, and was named the No. 1 song of 1970. Aside from being Twitty's standard concert opener, the song became a country standard.

"Spring in the mountains":
Carol,
Rain in the valley and white rain in the mountains is what spring is all about
living here. We never plant tomatoes until July 4 and then it is too late
because it all starts again in October. I am not complaining. It’s always
exciting when it snows. We still have one ski resort open which received 20
inches last night. At home it’s 5 pm, the sun is shining and it is all gone.
Also, I hope you are feeling well. Hang in there!
Regards,
Phil

05/26/10 - "Proposed Mastectomy Law Change":
This takes about 2 seconds. PLEASE PASS THIS ON to your 20 friends.
Proposed Mastectomy Law Change (written by a surgeon) I'll never forget the look in my patients eyes when I had to tell them they had to go home with the drains, new exercises and no breast. I remember begging the doctors to keep these women in the hospital longer, only to hear that they would, but their hands were tied by the insurance companies. So there I sat with my patient giving them the instructions they needed to take care of themselves, knowing full well they didn't grasp half of what I was saying, because the glazed, hopeless, frightened look spoke louder than the quiet 'Thank you' they muttered. A mastectomy is when a woman's breast is removed in order to remove cancerous breast cells/tissue. If you know anyone who has had a mastectomy, you may know that there is a lot of discomfort and pain afterwards. Insurance companies are trying to make mastectomies an outpatient procedure. Let's give women the chance to recover properly in the hospital for 2 days after surgery. This Mastectomy Bill is in Congress now. It takes 2 seconds to do this and is very important. Please take the time and do it really quick! The Breast Cancer Hospitalization Bill is important legislation for all women. Please send this to everyone in your address book. If there was ever a time when our voices and choices should be heard, this is one of those times. If you're receiving this, it's because I think you will take the 30 seconds to go to vote on this issue and send it on to others you know who will do the same. There's a bill called the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act which will require insurance companies to cover a minimum 48-hour hospital stay for patients undergoing a mastectomy. It's about eliminating the 'drive-through mastectomy' where women are forced to go home just a few hours after surgery, against the wishes of their doctor, still groggy from anesthesia and sometimes with drainage tubes still attached. Lifetime Television has put this bill on their web page with a petition drive to show your support.. Last year over half the House signed on. PLEASE! Sign the petition by clicking on the web site below. http://www.mylifetime.com/community/my-lifetime-commitment/breast-cancer/petition/breast-cancer-petition This takes about 2 seconds. PLEASE PASS THIS ON to your 20 friends. Hey, Lady - good to
hear from you!
This has been around so long I thought surely it was no longer valid, so I checked it. The problem is - incredibly it keeps being reintroduced! It would be more
effective to write, phone, fax, or email your congressional
representatives directly. Thanks
for the heads-up, Dimples!

From
ArcaMax Jokes - 05/26/10:Survey A marketing guy was interviewing people on the street had buttonholed a guy and was asking him a series of questions which went like this: Which shaving cream do you use? The gent answered, Baba's, and the guy proceeded to answer each of the interviewer's following questions with the same answer, Baba's... Which aftershave do you use? Which deodorant do you use? Which toothpaste do you use? Which shampoo do you use? Which soap do you use? Finally, a bit frustrated, the interviewer asked, "Ok, tell me, What is this 'Baba'? Is it an international or foreign company?" The guy replies. . . . "No, he's my roommate!" |

Hello, darlin', nice to see ya
It's been a long time
You're just as lovely as you used to be
How's your new love? Are you happy?
Hope you're doin' fine
Just to know means so much to me
What's that, darlin? "How'm I doin'?"
Guess I'm doin' all right
Except I can't sleep and I cry all night till dawn
What I'm trying to say is "I love you and I miss you"
"And I'm so sorry that I did you wrong"
Look up, darlin', let me kiss ya
Just for old time's sake
Let me hold you in my arms one more time
Thank ya, darlin', may God bless you
And may each step you take
Bring you closer to the thing you seek to find
Goodbye, darlin', gotta go now
Gotta try to find a way
To lose these mem'ries of a love so warm and true
And if you should ever find it in your heart to forgive me
Come back, darlin', I'll be waiting for you
