From Bobby Turpin
('58) of VA - 05/27/07 - "TYPHOON LOVE":
Anne (Sawyer Turpin - '65 - of VA)
and I hope this e-mail finds you and yours well this Memorial Day weekend.
Your Newsletter
dated 5/26/2007, stated that you did not know whether to identify
"contributors" or not. I can think of no greater ministry towards helping
to keep NNHS alive than the person who is
solely responsible for this. I think and pray for you (your family as well)
EVERYDAY. PLEASE, list Anne and me, among those wonderful people whom you
have identified. We will continue to help regularly in the future. I LOVE
YOU VERY MUCH. Our best to your sister
(Eleanor Buckley Nowitzky - '59 - of NC).
Bobby, you always
seem to say the sweetest things - just what I need to hear, just at the exact
moment when it will mean the most!
Thank you so
very much - for everything
- and give Anne a hug for me!

From
Ed Nichols ('62) of Northern VA to
From Chandler Nelms (Hampton HS - '63)
of MD
- 5/26/07 - "Yahoo message!!!":
Hi guys.
I mailed Carol the check today, Saturday, May 26th.
I am anything but a whiz on the computer but the response seems to be lagging
badly concerning help for Carol and Paul. I was just wondering if others have
tried to reach you guys and had the same roadblock. I never use Yahoo so I have
not a clue, but thankfully Chandler's second email address was fine. I tried all
three email addresses again tonight, Sat. 5/26, and the same message came up for
me. I seldom have problems with AOL (not always the case), but I have not run
into anything like it. But, possibly, this has had a role in the response. Just
food for thought. And thanks for your effort in helping
Carol
('65)
and
Paul
(Bardolph HS, IL - '61).
You guys stood up when someone was needed.
Ed Nichols, NNHS Class of 1962
WOWZERS!!!
Thank you, Eddie!

From Chandler Nelms (Hampton HS -
'63) of MD - 05/27/07 - "RE: Yahoo message!!!"
Carol,
Ed Nichols ('62 - of Northern
VA) brought to our attention that there seems to be some sort of glitch in
the newsletter (read below). When you attempt to link to Joe's, Wayne's or my
personal email addresses at the end of the Please Read message, you get a Yahoo
message that effectively won't let you go any further. My DARPA email link
appears to be the ONLY one working correctly. It further appears to have been
this way since the first
ALERT
newsletter went out. I went all the way back and got the same problem. This of
course may be stifling readers that would otherwise be making contributions if
they could contact us. Try it and you'll see what we mean. We need to
immediately change the ending of the message somehow so that all four email
addresses will be reachable.
Chandler
Well, that was the weirdest thing I've seen in a long time! The links were indeed all screwy, but I've no idea why that first one should have been that way. As the others were all copied from the original, they all followed suit. I've gone back and corrected all of them now. They seem to be working from here.
Thanks,
Chandler - and Eddie!

From
Me
('65) of NC - 05/27/07:
Who loves books more than teachers?? How ironic that as I determined to make this our theme for the day, I found in reading this morning's Daily Press obituaries that we had lost our second NNHS teacher this week.
http://www.nnhs65.00freehost.com/05-25-07-NNHS-Louise-Lane-Mundie.html
Mrs. Laurie K. Collier passed away Friday in Newport News at the age of 70.
I'll make her Memorial Newsletter tomorrow when the full obituary appears, but I
started by adding her teacher page to the website
today:
http://www.nnhs65.00freehost.com/SITE-MAP.html
http://www.nnhs65.00freehost.com/faculty.html
http://www.nnhs65.00freehost.com/teachers.html
http://www.nnhs65.00freehost.com/teach-Bauserman.html - now with four images
http://www.nnhs65.00freehost.com/teach-Collier.html - new page, with two images plus an obituary

We don't
use energy saving light bulbs, because our house eats light bulbs. We change
them about every 2 weeks, really. It's quite sad. The wiring in our house is
screwy. Oh well. what do you expect from older than dirt!

Book of Love
(Monotones)
[ I wonder, wonder who, bi du du, who
Who wrote the book of love ]
Tell me, tell me, tell me
Oh, who wrote the book of love
I've got to know the answer
Was it someone from above
[ repeat ]
I love you, darling
Baby, you know I do
But I've got to see this book of love
And find out why it's true
[ repeat ]
{ Chapter One says to love her
You love her with all your heart
Chapter Two, you tell her
You're never never never never ever gonna part
In Chapter Three remember
The meaning of romance
In Chapter Four you break up
But you give her just one more chance }
Oh,
[ repeat ]
Baby, baby, baby
I love you, yes I do
Well, it says so in this book of love
Ours is the one that's true
Oh,
[ repeat ]
{ repeat }
Oh,
[ repeat ]
Baby, baby, baby
I love you, yes I do
Well, it says so in this book of love
Ours is the one that's true
[ repeat ]
I wonder who (yeah)
Who wrote the book of love
