Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
There
is more sad news this morning.
Madeline Boldin Gardner, mother of
Gloria Gardner Willoughby ('65) of AZ and Michael Gardner of AZ, passed away in
Tucson, Arizona on Wednesday,
May 20, 2009 at the age of 87.

TUCSON, AZ. -
Madeline B. Gardner, 87, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 in Tucson,
Ariz. She was a former resident of Newport News. Mrs. Gardner was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Gardner; her parents, Walter Earnest Boldin and Blanche Eva Chambers Boldin; and her brother, Jack. Mrs. Gardner leaves behind to cherish her memories a daughter, Gloria Willoughby of Tucson; son, Michael Gardner of Tucson; sister, Julia Cox; brothers, Max, Earnest, John, Hal and Harold Boldin; three grandchildren, Ronald Fletcher, Christopher and Danielle Mulvey; four great-grandchildren, Britni and Lauren Fletcher, James Hines and Aidan Mulvey; and 15 nieces and nephews. |

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, 2009,
at Peninsula Funeral Home, 11144 Warwick Blvd, Newport News, VA 23601.
Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Peninsula
Funeral Home with burial to follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. |
