Dear Friends and Schoolmates,
 I was saddened to learn of the passing of Ricky Hedrick, Class of 1963, husband of Gertrude Helfrich Hedrick ('62) of VA, and brother of the late  Bobby Hedrick ('58), who passed away at home in Hampton on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the age of 73.

                  Richard Lane Hedrick
      HAMPTON - Richard Lane Hedrick, age 73, went to be with his Lord on Friday, May 18, 2018 at home surrounded by his family.

He was a life-long resident of Newport News. He was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church and served honorably in the Army National Guard.

He loved volunteering at the Hampton VA Hospital, Sarah Bonwell and First Robotics. He also enjoyed going on Mission Trips, teaching youth groups and helping the elderly. He will be deeply missed, but is now rejoicing with Jesus.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Lois Hedrick; and his brother, Bobby Hedrick.

He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Gertrude; his daughter, Paula; and grandson, Paul.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, May 24, 2018 at Peninsula Memorial Park by Pastor Joe Hunt. Please enter by the Nettles Dr. gate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Liberty Baptist Church, Missions Fund, 1021 Big Bethel Rd., Hampton, VA 23666.
